| Spring Training has begun, and the New York Yankees are back, back and ready to win back their title. Its been more than 4 months since that fateful 9th inning of Game 7, and since then the Yankees have made a few changes. Tino Martinez was replaced by Jason Giambi, Paul O'Neill will no longer stand out in right field practicing his swing, Chuck Knoblauch is a Kansas City Royal. However, a few new faces won't stop the Yanks them from wanting to win it all more than ever before. Look at it this way- the last time the Yankees didn't win the World Series (1997), they came back the next year and had arguably the greatest season of all time. And in 1997, the Yanks didn't even get past the division series. Last year they were two outs away from being World Champions four years in a row. So here's my theory: If 2001 was 1997 only better, than 2002 will be 1998 only better. Go Yanks! |
