| Scott Hall is a great wrestler and great fun to watch. Once again, I am in no way benefiting from the use of the images on this site. They were all borrowed from other sites. ************************************************************************************ I would like to add an excerpt here from a Byte This interview Scott Hall gave at the beginning of March, 2002. Please just enjoy the personal comments of this man and enjoy the view. This is an excerpt from Scott's March 2002 Byte This Interview. I printed a copy of it here because he takes ultimate responsibility for his ups and downs and displays a great sense of humor through it all. For his candor and for his intelligent and insightful comments, as well as accepting responsibility for his past actions, my respect for this man has grown immeasurably! KK-Was Scott one of the people to blame when WCW's business got bad. SH-"It happened real fast. WCW hadn't had to deal with success before and wasn't adequately equipped to handle it. Everything came at us so fast-they never had merchandising stuff in place because there was never really a demand for their merchandise before. They weren't equipped for the success that came by accident. I'll admit that what the fans chanted the last night in Madison Square Garden (last night as Razor) was right. I did sell out, I took the money over the creative satisfaction because I'd already done the starving artist thing. My dues were paid in full. I wanted to live a comfortable life and be able to provide for my kids. I already had the fans chant "Razor, Razor" that doesn't pay your bills, I wanted a deal that guananteed money and more than anything, days off." TP-Asks Scott about slaying his demons, pressure and staying on the path he is now. SH-"You know, I was just about to stop and get a 12 pack on the way to the Sundome! (Laughs) I'm scared to death now Doc! Oh my gosh! (Laughs) I haven't had a drink so far, that's the kind of question you already know the answer to. Those of us who have been in treatment know that we are just trying to make it through a day. Of course I have a goal to make it to Wrestlemania and past Wrestlemania and all that, but it's nothing to do with my job in the WWF, I'm doing it for me and my family and stuff, and to be a better Dad and be a better Scott Hall, and the thing is by doing that you get a better wrestler too. So if I don't drink, everybody wins. I'm just choosing not to drink today, that's all I know." TP-You know that's going to be coming? People are always going to ask you that when they get the chance? SH-"It's all right. It's not like I didn't earn my reputation. I ain't proud of everything I've done, we only had one perfect guy and we crucified him, so let the guy who is without sin cast the first stone, you're talking about a bunch of wrestlers, I mean, come on! You know how we broke in man, if you didn't drink beer with the guys they didn't trust you. It sounds really mature, especially with the guys breaking in these days, they break in in a powerplant or something like that, they're not on the road, they're in the gym all the time, working out, vitamins. We were on the road eating cheeseburgers, drinking beer and trying to get a good match out of a guy so it's a whole different thing. That's ok, I can change with the times. Finally grew up I guess." KK-Instant feedback question, how many years do you think you have left in you? SH-"I don't know, I'm signed for 2 years, and probably that should be it. I actually wanted creativity.. Like my son is coming to the show tonight with some of his buddies and I wanted to come out early for this interview and everything, I knew they would be acting up in the car. My son is 10, Cody, and he's got some of his buddies coming to the show tonight. It's for that reason I wanted to come back and wrestle in America and on television where he can see his dad and know that wrestling is an honorable profession. The WWF is a class act and it's because of my bad judgement or bad decisions. I could have been pumping gas or in a 7-11 and been drinking too much. It had nothing to do with what I did for a living, it was me making poor decisions. And I wanted my son to see that, and my daughter to see that, and to see that what I do is ok, it's ok to be proud of what your dad does for a living." As I said above, I have great respect for this father of two. Thanks for sharing this glimpse into who you are, Scott. ~nwostng~ Click here to go to the site where these beautiful backgrounds are found. One other item of interest, he was rumored to have had a stroke in July of 2004. It's NOT true. |
