5/14 - Game 5, Brewers - W, 17-4

"Chalk it Up"

Chalk another 'W' up in the win column for the boys as team nWo easily proved their dominance over the Brewers last night at spacious Warren field. Under shaky pitching that gave up 6 walks and 21 hits, the Brewers dropped their third straight game to slip into 14th place.

"We played fine," commented nWo manager Jim "Hollywood" Sorochen after the game. "Everyone hit well," he shrugged, "I'm looking forward to a challenge one of these weeks."

That challenge may be a few weeks away still as the game against Millennium doesn't take place for another month. "Our plans are to play no more than five innings a game," commented Bill "Sojo" Gamba, "maybe then the rec department will see the need to shuffle these leagues up a bit. I realize we're not talking stats, but if we were everyone would see how great I am doing both pitching and hitting."

Hollywood named outfielder Mike Sorochen as Player of the Week after going 3-3 with a walk. "He provided the hitting spark batting lead off," said Hollywood. Chris Pichalski also went 3-3 with a walk as well, as his hitting performance has continued to be dominating. "I just do my best everytime I get up," commented the modest short stop, "it's a team effort for us, we all play for the nWo...for life."

Around the league: Cibelli's win their 3rd straight to move into 4th; Fords Fire after winning their first game has dropped 4 straight and slipped deep into the 13th spot; Woodbridge Elks after scoring a team high 3 runs two weeks ago got blanked again in five much to Chase's happiness.

5/7 - Game 4, Hatco Corp. - W, 27-0

"All Too Easy"

It may be Darth Vader's famous one liner...but nWo manager James "Hollywood" Sorochen adopted it as his own last night in Port Reading. Team nWo took Hatco Corporation to school last night, effortlessly crushing them 27-0. The Boys were heavily favored to win and did not disappoint.

"There's not much you can say," a content Hollywood stated after the game, "we had such an advantage that some of our fans didn't even show up."

Later on, Hollywood named Jim "Mustang" Ciszewski "nWo Player of the Week" who went 3-3 (again), with a triple and 6 RBIs.

With the Roosevelt Reds losing last night only three teams remain undefeated. nWo Softball has moved securely in the lead with 70 runs scored and an amazing 3 runs scored against.

4/23 - Game 3, Teddy's Bar - W, 24-2

"And Then There Were Four"

Five teams went into last nights Men's Slo-Pitch Softball games undefeated. Only two of those teams were playing each other, Teddy's Bar and nWo softball. Somebody had to leave the loser

It was yet another dazzling installment of the nWo softball saga last night in Port Reading. The boys devastatingly crushed their opponents to claim 100% Bragging Rights of Teddy's Bar. "It's tough sponsoring two teams," said Teddy's Bar owner Mark, "Except for the discounts on shirts. But really, I'm just happy they all get along."

The nWo softball team delighted spectators with an offensive display not seen since the Gulf War. "Ponytail Mike" Peleskey continued his homerun hitting streak (from Sunday's game) by launching one over the left field fence. "I knew when I hit itit was gone," said a very calm Peleskey. "The second one I was kind of hoping but it didn't quite make it." Peleskey, speaking of course of another launched ball that ran out of real estate just feet from the fence. All in all it was a good day for Ponytail Mike going 2 for 3 with the homerun and a triple, scoring 3 runs and 4 RBIs.

All in all it was an impressive hitting day for team nWo boasting 4 doubles and a slew of singles to equal an outstanding 23 hits in 5 innings! Carlos "Los" Almeida joined in the festivities going 3 for 3, and Mike "The Bomber" Gross, finally getting an AB, went 2 for 3 with one of those doubles to his credit. "Mustang Jim" Ciszewski found the fifth spot to his liking batting in 4 RBIs in his 2 for 3 performance.

The defense got some time in though a real threat was never an issue. nWo-Gamba "Sojo" had another strong outing going the full 5 and giving up 2 runs on 5 hits. One of the runs however was not to his credit as a fielding error got a man on. Swanke, who allegedly had some sort of injury, dropped a routine fly ball even as fans chanted 'can of corn'. Sojo has only given up 1 earned run thus far. "We're not looking at stats this yearbut if we were anyone can clearly see how superior I am as an all around player."

"I'm very happy with the guys," said nWo manager Jim "Hollywood" Sorochen in a post game interview. "We are really coming together as a team. Although we put on an offensive display here tonight, don't forget the strong defense and solid pitching. We are the Game and we are just that damn good."

The elated team went off with their fans for some cold ones and some more interviews where the off field stunts and shenanigans were finally uncovered. See nWo News for details

4/16 - Game 2, Fords Fire Company - W, 12-1

"Ah, Mercy, Mercy, Me"

Finally...nWo Softball...has come back...to Woodbridge.

In a stunning victory last night Team nWo showed Woodbridge exactly how the game was played. Led by clutch hitting, stellar defense, and Series worthy pitching, nWo Softball crushed Ford Fire Company, 12-1. Team nWo spared Fords Fire total humiliation by "tenning" them by the fifth. "We thought they would have been better," nWo manager Jim "Hollywood" Sorochen commented after the game. "It's obvious we are just that DAMN good," he said with a smirk.

nWo-Gamba made his debut as a first time father. The doting daddy showed off pictures of his beautiful son and was extremely humorous whilst he pitched the one run, four hit, 2 K, game. "You don't need practice," he shrugged after the game, "it's all over rated when you have the natural talent that I do." He went on to explain how the team was not supposed to be talking stats this year but how he figured he would lead the team in hitting as well. The key to great hitting? His answer, "I don't take any practice swings because one of those may be the best swing I get in that particular at bat." Hollywood scoffed in the background mumbling a vow to 'shuffle the lineup'.

The defense sparkled last night as infield grabs by Pichalski and Swanke (who actually got his feet off the ground) highlighted the infield. "No Ordonez here," smirked Pichalski. In the outfield, Coffey made a spectacular running grab and a one handed stab by Hollywood saved runs keeping the ten run Mercy Rule intact.

On the flipside, all the nWo members hit safely in last night's game.
Hollywood sported an opposite field RBI triple; Sully had a bases clearing double; and both Jim Ciszewski and Ponytail Mike Peleskey went 3-3. In the impressive Billy Joel "Pressure" like variety, most of the hits came with two men out, and yes, sometimes with three men on.

"I was very pleased with the overall performance of everyone considering we haven't practiced all that much and last week was a forfeit. I certainly can't complain," said Hollywood. When asked about the very conspicuous MIA status of Mike "the Bomber" Gross, Hollywood had no comment and refused to speak about the matter.

Team nWo certainly "brought it" to last night's game. Check back here for all the latest nWo news and interviews as the boys prepare to take on rivals Teddy's Bar next week.

4/9 - Game 1, Woodbridge Elks - "W" by forfeit

The Boys of Summer did not get their wish last night. They did not get to show off their stuff. They did not get to "bring it". In a gross display of not getting it done, the Woodbridge Elks forfeited the first game of the season for not having enough players.

"We crushed these old guys last year," said a frustrated manager, Jim "Hollywood" Sorochen. "We were looking forward to a nice easy practice game. How pathetic they can't even get a team together for the first game. They'll be out of the league in a couple weeks."

Hollywood, speaking about the leagues Two Game Forfeit rule whereby a team is only allowed 2 forfeits before they are asked to leave, was annoyed and disappointed in the outcome. Had it not been for the surprise acquisition of outfielder and former nWo star Mike "The Bomber" Gross, the day may have been a total loss for our heroes.

A few of the team members (even some of higher Whipped Status ones) did not pass up the opportunity of being in the neighborhood and stopped by nWo-Bittings for a few. The Bomber and team members reminisced about old times as the team discovered the Bomber had not changed one bit...every song that was played was of course...his wedding song.

Next weeks victims are the hosers from Fords Fire Company. Says Hollywood about the matchup, "they seem to be getting better every season...we only beat them by eight runs last year...I'm sure we'll make up for that this year."
