Terri's New Home

When Terri awoke, the sun was just coming up. She was lying on a field of fresh green grass. Curiously, she sat up, for she didn't know where she was. This strange place was not in the least bit familiar.

Looking around, she found nothing but curvy, grassy hills all around her. There was a bunny here or there, and odd flowers growing. It seemed deserted, and was quiet... A bit too quiet... Except that is, for the childish giggling.

Upon looking up in the direction the laughing was coming from, Terri found that it was the sun that was laughing. In fact, the sun had the face of a baby in the middle, and as it rose, and illuminated this strange land, it continued to laugh.

Suddenly, Terri wondered if this was all a strange dream. She hoped it was, for it was beginning to seem as if she was Alice in Wonderland. And if it wasn't, she thought it would be a good idea if she found someone who might be able to help her.

After traveling around the land for a bit, she found nothing. As whispers sprouted up from behind her, she whirled around, but there was still not a soul around. The odd thing was, it looked to her as if those strange flowers were giggling, and muttering incoherent things to one another.

As she continued on her search, she wondered who had slipped what in to her drink the previous night... But then again... It all seemed so real.

Out of the corner of her eye, Terri spotted something bright coming towards her. When she looked, she caught sight of a big, orange, bouncing ball headed her way. She caught it when it came to her, and looked to see if anyone had been playing with it.

There was another sound just then, someone singing a song softly to themselves. As the singing grew closer, the singer appeared. She was short, and yellow, with a curly antenna.

" Oh!" She exclaimed softly. " La La ball!"

That was when Terri recognized her... * Them today, Barney tomorrow*... She thought. La La turned to call out.

" Po! Tinky Winky! Dipsy! Come see new friend!"

Giggling came from behind Terri, and she turned to find the three other creatures coming towards them. When Po ran over Terri's foot with her scooter, the Diva knew she wasn't dreaming.

" Ooh!" Tinky Winky looked at Terri. " Eh-Oh!"

" Eh-oh!!" The others echoed.

Terri cocked an eyebrow.

" Um... Hi... Do you have a telephone I could use?"

Confused, the creatures all looked at each other.

" What's tephelone?"

The woman tried to explain.

" You know... That machine. Hello? Hello?"

Still puzzled, they looked at each other again.

" Want Tubby-Tustard?" Dipsy asked.

It was then that Terri realized these creatures had the IQs of toddlers. They couldn't help her. This meant one thing- She was stuck in the land of the Telletubbies forever.
