“ Lita, no!” Rusty looked at the older WWE Diva with a shocked look on her face. “ You didn’t!” Lita smiled at the girl. “ Relax. It’ll be fine.” She told her softly. Shaking her head, the newest member of Team Xtreme began to pace around the room. “ How could you?” The other Diva sat and watched Rusty. She knew the girl might react like this, but it had gone on for far too long. It was hurting some of the people closest to her, and she and Matt had finally decided to take matters in to their own hands. They just hoped it worked. Trying to control her breathing, Rusty sat down next to Lita, and ran her hands through the hair she dyed to match her name. “ Lita, you know how I feel about him! I can’t be stuck with him for that long alone!” Lita looked away. It was somewhat of an evil ploy, and deep down, she felt a bit bad, but knew in the end, it would turn out good if all went according to plan. “ Matt and I need some time alone…” She attempted an excuse. But Rusty caught the lie and hesitation in her voice “ No!” Rusty yelled. “ You did this on purpose!” When the older woman looked Rusty, she found her with a look on her face that was half hurt, half anger. Lita sighed, and held up a hand. “ This has gone on for months, Rusty. It’s time. You have to tell him.” Sadly, she shook her head. “ I can’t… Lita, please don’t make me do this. I can hardly stand to be around him sometimes.” Matt’s girlfriend put her hands on Rusty’s face. “ You can do it, Rusty. You’re strong.” “ But he makes me weak! I couldn’t!” For a long time, she sent the girl a sympathetic stare. “ It’s not good to keep it inside! You need to tell Jeff you love him!” * * * “ No!” Jeff Hardy shook his head at his older brother. “ Matt, there is no way!” Matt wasn’t having it. “ You’re riding with Rusty to Denver, Jeff.” “ Damn it, Matt. You know about her…” The brunette shrugged. “ You can’t run from her.” “ And you can’t make me do this! Matt, I don’t care what you do, I am not riding with her.” The older Hardy shook his head at the younger. Jeff was being stubborn. And it part, Matt couldn’t exactly blame him. His brother had fallen for Rusty, and fallen hard. “ And another thing- You did this without telling me!” Jeff was still complaining. “ It’s because I knew you’d act this way!” The blonde Hardy jumped up. “ You can’t control me-” “ SHUT UP, JEFF!” Matt suddenly yelled at his brother. “ You’re acting like a damn child! You can’t avoid this forever! You can’t keep this from her!” Jeff pulled a baseball cap on to his head. “ This isn’t fair, Matt…” Matt stared at his brother for a long time. Eventually, it made him nervous, and Jeff took one step backwards. “ Do you know what I see, Jeff?” Jeff glared at him. “ What…” Matt crossed his arms. “ I see fear.” What could have been a growl came from the younger man. " We're Hardyz, Matt. Fear is only-" “ A four letter word, right? If that’s true then you’ll face your fear of loving Rusty!” * Jeff and Rusty were to drive to Denver together, where they were scheduled to do RAW and a house show. Matt and Lita were flying. When Rusty and Lita came outside to the car with their bags, they found Matt and Jeff. Matt looked fine, but Jeff looked like a mix of uneasy and pissed off. When he saw Rusty come outside, he swallowed nervously, and turned his cap backwards. Lita trotted down the steps and kissed Matt. He slid his arms around her waist, and her tongue slid in to his mouth. Rusty rolled her eyes. “ Get a room.” She told them, and began to put her stuff in the car. As Jeff loaded one of her duffel bags in to the trunk, she asked him, “ Do you mind that they made me come with you?” Jeff shook his head. “ Nah. Be nice to have some company.” Rusty only nodded, and they went around to the front of the car to get in. Matt and Lita were still engaged in a hot kiss. Jeff and Rusty couldn’t help but feel jealous. They wished for few things other than that opportunity with one another. For months, this had been their desire. Finally, Jeff yelled at them. “ We’re going!” The two broke their kiss. “ All right. Take care.” Lita told them. Jeff nodded. “ You, too.” “ Be good!” Matt told them, a tinge of mockery in his voice. The two cringed, and got in to the car. “ Ready?” Jeff looked over at her. “ Yeah. Let’s go. I just want to get there.” This trip wouldn’t, couldn’t be fast enough. * Matt and Lita settled in to their seats on the plane. “ Hey, Li?” Matt leaned his head in his hand. “ Did we do the right thing?” Lita nodded. “ It’s been going on for months. They have such a power over one another, it’ll drive them to the brink if they continue to hide.” The man leaned back in to his seat, and took Lita’s hand. “ I just hope this time with each other will finally let them speak.” A sad look appeared in Lita’s eyes. “ The worst part is that they’re perfect for one another. Soul mates. They deserve to be together.” Matt nodded in agreement. “ Remember when they met?” He sighed. “ I never ever saw Jeff look that way…” “ I remember. I think they fell in love right there.” * * * Rusty woke up to the Queen of the Damned soundtrack playing quietly. Yawning, she shifted in her seat, trying to get a better position. “ Have a nice nap?” Jeff asked. “ Yeah. Sorry to kind of abandon you like that.” Glancing at the clock, he told her. “ It was only an two hours or so.” Sheepishly, she smiled. He smiled back at her. “ Don’t worry about it. Besides… It gave me some time to think.” “ About what?” Rusty found herself asking. Geez, Rusty. About how much I fucking love you. Wincing from this he tensed, then told her, “ Not much… People. Our little Team Xtreme. Some old friends." " Shannon?" She cocked her head, referring to Shannon Moore. Jeff looked over at her, a strange look on his face. Then slowly, he nodded. " Yeah… How'd you know?" Rusty shrugged. " Maybe I'm psychic." They rode a little longer in silence, with only the music. At one point, Jay Gordon's voice slid smoothly out of the stereo, and teased them. ' I've slept so long without you…' Now this song was hardly a love song. But this particular line made the two people in the car think about one another. They'd loved each other for months, just never spoke of it. Yeah, they had been sleeping so long without one another. God, did they wish they could sleep with each other. No- Not just sex. They wanted so much more… They'd go to sleep at night, wishing they had each other for warmth, or comfort. Rusty had mood swings from time to time, and just wanted someone who cared for her there to take care of her. Rusty kicked off her sneakers in the rental car, and sat Indian style on the cheap leather upholstery. She licked her lips, and let the familiar music take her. Jeff's hands clenched at the wheel. God, she's got beautiful lips. They were smooth, and pink, and looked soft. He wanted to test the theory that they were. Maybe run his own tongue along them. But so far, no such luck. An hour later, Rusty asked Jeff if he'd like to switch drivers. He told her yes, and they stopped the car to switch. " Can I?" She pointed to the CD player as they settled in to their new seats. " Yeah, sure." He told her, and Rusty put in a Led Zeppelin CD. Jeff chuckled. " Old school, huh?" He asked. Rusty smiled at him as she turned the key in the ignition. " It's my favorite. Zeppelin, the Who, AC/DC…" She waved her hand around as she named them. " Classic rock just appeals to me." " That's cool." He told her. " I think music is important." " So do I." She replied. " Music has been somewhat of a sanctuary for me for years… My escape, even." Jeff shifted in his seat to look at her. " What are you running from?" She sighed. " I dunno… Reality sometimes. Things I should face, when I don’t." She admitted this to him, not knowing how close to home it hit him. But then again, this went for the both of them. They had a reality to face, and much to Matt and Lita's dismay, it was a reality they tried to hide from- even deny. " I can relate." He told her in a low voice. * * * As it got close to dark, and they'd just entered Colorado, Rusty cursed. Jeff looked up from playing with the strings on his jeans to find it was snowing, and snowing hard. What was more, they were in the middle of nowhere. " Oh, man." Jeff groaned. They'd planned to later stop at a motel in a town they passed through, but they hadn't expected it to start snowing. A nervous feeling passed through Rusty. A little more of the weather they were having, and the roads would be impossible to drive the car on. It was a little Toyota. Maybe if it had been the Durango Rusty had in her home, they would have gone a little longer. But the possibility they'd be stranded loomed in the air. " Jeff?" Rusty squeaked. " What are we going to do? Look how hard it's coming down…" Jeff chewed his lip, and thought for a few moments. Finally, he replied. " Let's keep going. Maybe we can make it to the next town." Rusty hesitated, then agreed. But she picked up the speed a little bit. Around fifteen minutes later, the Jeep coming up the highway on the other side of the road honked and waved for them to stop. The harsh snow had continued, and the roads were becoming slippery. It was the first care they'd seen in miles. They stopped, and the man got out of his car, and came over to the Toyota. " Hey!" He greeted them. " Why the heck are ya out here?" Rusty smiled a sheepish smile. " We didn't know." " Well, they're saying blizzard." The two wrestlers looked at each other. " What do you suggest?" Jeff asked. The man dug in to his pockets, and pulled out a small set of keys. " A few miles up the road is my vacation house. You can stay if you like." Astonishment appeared on their faces. The man smiled. " Go on! I've got to take care of some business, and I have a car that can get me there. Really. Take them." He held out the keys. Once again, they looked at each other. Then they considered it. They would be stranded in a little car in the middle of nowhere. It was freezing, and the car's heater was doing almost nothing to help. It seemed Matt and Lita were doing this themselves. Perhaps Lita was really a weather witch, and was forcing down the snow, and making this kind man appear to push Jeff and Rusty further towards one another. " Jeff?" She glanced at him. He nodded. " Good!" The man smiled, and handed Rusty the keys. " Make yourselves at home. The guestrooms are on the second floor, and eat anything you can find. Besides, Mr. McMahon would wonder what happened!" Rusty smiled, but she could feel herself blushing. Stardom still kind of got to her, but in a good way. As the man got back in his Jeep, he yelled to them, " Take care of Brownie!" But before Rusty could ask who Brownie was, the Jeep went off. Brownie? Jeff cocked his head, and mouthed this. Rusty shrugged. * * * The path to the house was only four more miles down the road. This was a good thing, too for if it had been any longer, they doubted the car could make it without skidding off the road. It was huge, and the two guessed this man had money. Two floors, and heated well, for as they walked in, they were met with a nice warm house. The moment they closed the door, a Border Terrier, happily yipping, scampered in to the room. Rusty let out a high pitched squealing, 'awwwww!', and hung her coat on the coat rack. She picked up the dog, and hugged it. " Aren't you the cutest!" She nuzzled it's nose with hers, and caught sight of the shiny red dog tag on the blue collar around his neck. " Jeff, I think I found Brownie." He smiled, and petted it gently. Jeff sighed, and laughed. " Geez, nice guy, huh?" He shook his head in slight disbelief at the generosity. " Yeah, really." Rusty put Brownie down. " Let's look around." Yep. This guy definitely had money. They'd had been in people's year-round houses that weren't as nice than this one. Three bathrooms, a kitchen and dining room, a den, a living room, a sitting room, an office, one master, and two guest bedrooms. Not to mention a pool, and two Jacuzzis, one inside, one out. Rusty let out a low whistle as they found themselves back in the main hallway. " My loft sucks compared to this." " Yeah, right." Jeff laughed. " I was there with Matt and Lita when we were all in New York, and we stayed with you. That was the coolest house I've ever been in. And it was in the Village, too. We went outside, and we could walk to Trash and Vaudeville in like, five minutes." Rusty grinned. " Thank you, Jeff." She'd spent months decorating that house, she was glad people liked it. ' Take Me Out to the Ballgame' began to play on Rusty's Nokia. Jeff laughed at her choice of ring tones, and she playfully stuck her tongue out at him. Brownie had been barking at the phone on the table, and Rusty spoke softly to him. " Silly boy. It's just a cell phone. It’s okay. A lot of humans hate them, too." The caller ID stated Lita was calling her, and sitting down on the couch, she answered it. " Hello?" " Hey." Came Lita's voice. " I take it you got caught, huh?" Rusty sighed. " Yep." A thought struck her, so she voiced it. " Where are you?" Lita groaned. " They landed us in O'Haire. They said a blizzard is expected in Denver." " Yeah, and I heard jack shit about it." Lita paused. " Where are you?" " You really won't believe me if I told you." Lita's voice was puzzled. " Huh?" Rusty sighed. " This guy stopped us on the road, when it had began to snow really hard. He said we could use his vacation home while he drove somewhere else, and here we are, and the house is huge." Another pause. " Rusty, this is your chance. It's fate." The girl looked over at Jeff, who was scratching a now very happy Brownie behind his ears. " I can't." " God, girl, look at your situation. You're stranded with the man you love. This is it. You can't hide from him." Rusty moaned softly. " But what if…" " Just do it, Rusty! You've been hiding it for months. Please? I hate to see you like this." The girl smiled. Lita was such a good friend to her. And she was right. Rusty was just having somewhat of a hard time admitting it. " I'll try." She said finally. " Good." Came the response. " … Listen, Matt needs to talk to Jeff. All right?" Rusty nodded, even though Lita couldn’t see this. " Uh huh." She called Jeff over. " All right. I'll see you… Whenever…" " Okay." " Good luck." The girl nodded again. " Thanks. I think I'm going to need it." * * * As midnight approached, Jeff drew back the curtain in the living room to find the snow was a foot high outside, and still refusing to cease. " Rusty…" He spoke to the girl, who'd been sitting in the easy chair in the living room. " I think you should look at this." Rusty came to him, and gasped as she looked out the window. " There must be a foot…" She said, incredulously, chocolate eyes growing wide as her words trailed off. She went to try the front door, but it wouldn’t budge. " Oh my God…" She sighed, and put her head against the door. Running her hands through her hair, she let her breath out in one long sigh, trying to keep calm. She began to pace about the living room, slowly. Finally, she stopped, and looked at Jeff, worry and fear locked in her eyes. " Jeff, what are we going to do?" He went over to her. " I don't know." Nervously, she swallowed, and shivered slightly. Being stranded with Jeff… This was not the romantic scenario she'd envisioned it would be. If fear was truly only a four-letter word, those four letters were doing a lot to her at that moment. Who knew how long it would snow for? Who knew how long they'd be there. Jeff heard her silent cry for comfort. Without even thinking about it, he put his arms around the girl. She froze at his embrace, then folded her own arms up against her breasts, and let herself bath in the arms she so longed to be in. " Shh…" Jeff stroked her hair and whispered to her. " It'll be all right." He told her. He didn't know this was true. And it wasn't all right. They were snowed in at some man's house in the no man's land of Colorado. But he didn't want her to worry. He wanted her to be calm, and feel safe in his arms. And she did feel safe. She also felt nervous, confused, and scattered emotions here and there that were too numerous to figure out. The only thing she knew was that she was in Jeff's arms, and there seemed to be nothing else around her but that. " Come on, Rusty." He told her softly, and touching her arm briefly, led her to the kitchen. In the cabinet, there was a bottle of wine. Jeff poured a glass for him and Rusty. " Here." He told her, handing her a glass. " Just take it easy. We'll get out of this fine, I promise." Rusty looked at him, a forlorn look still in her eyes. Then she wordlessly nodded. They took the wine, and sat by the fireplace. A fire had been burning there, but perhaps it was the fire that burned inside. The fire for each other. They sat by the fire and talked a bit. The words and the wine helped to calm their nerves a bit. When they finished the alcohol, Jeff took the glasses to the kitchen, and put them in the sink. When he came back, and sat down next to Rusty on the rug again, the girl had a calm smile on her face. Jeff gazed at her. The light from the fire made her seem to glow. A soft light came off of her. As if she wasn't beautiful enough already, this made her even more so. He watched as she petted Brownie, who had come up to her. This action spoke to him. She was kind… She was loving. He didn't know how much more he could stand it. Rusty felt Jeff's gaze on her. She looked up at him, and her heart pounded in her chest. The house was warm, so he could get away with having just one shirt on for a top. The sleeves were made of material somewhat like mesh, so Rusty could see the strong muscles in his arms. There was a thoughtful look on his face, as he looked back at her, his features seemingly dampened with his musings. For a few moments, they merely gazed at one another. Suddenly, Jeff put his hands on her face, leaned over, and captured her mouth with his. Rusty's mind was immediately fogged. The feeling of his lips on hers, and the perfect kiss he gave her was just too much. She kissed him back, but then she realized exactly what was going on. She was kissing the man she loved. Like a wildfire, fear spread through her. She broke the kiss, and stared at Jeff, before taking off in to the kitchen. * Jeff found Rusty with her back to him, leaning on the counter. He slowly went over to her. Putting his hand on her shoulder, he softly told her, " Rusty, I… I'm sorry." She turned to face him. Putting her hand on his cheek, she caressed his face. " Don't be." She told him. " Didn't you feel it? I kissed you back." Jeff slowly shook his head, not understanding her. " Then why…" Rusty sighed. No way out. ' The time has come, the walrus said.' -Lewis Carrol This was the line that went through her head. And it was true. " I don't know… Jeff, there's something I should tell you." " Yeah." Jeff nodded, sighing this word. " I have something to tell you to." Rusty stroked his face with her hand again. Jeff kissed the palm. " The reason I ran was because… I was afraid. I didn't know what it meant, when you kissed me. And I'm kind of afraid to know, 'cause I've wanted that for so long…" She took a breath. " I love you, Jeff." There. It was out. Rusty saw the shocked look immediately appear on his face. She couldn't bear to see it, so she looked down. But Jeff cupped her chin in his hand, and brought her face to look at him. He kissed her once, and she closed her eyes. He once again took her in his arms. Against her lips, she felt him whisper, " I love you, too, Rusty." She whimpered, for this was a moment she'd dreamed of. Expressing her love for Jeff, and him telling it back to her. Her lips brushed against his and they met in a soulful kiss. They kissed for a few moments, though it seemed like longer. But then the kiss was broken, and Jeff kissed her cheek, before whispering in to her ear. " Rusty, listen to me. I'll take care of you. I've loved you since I've known you." The girl put her arms around his neck, and the two held one another in the kitchen. " Jeff, I used to watch you, and wonder what it would be like to know you. And when I finally did know you, I fell for you." Jeff placed kisses over her forehead, her eyelids, her cheeks, her nose. " Oh, man… When I saw you walk in with Lita, the first time I saw you… I knew there was something about you. And I was right. God, I love you. I need you." Rusty was about to respond, but Jeff kissed her again. And he'd been right. Her lips were soft, and warm. * * * The next night, Jeff sat in the guest room they shared, reading. It was getting late, and they were still snowed in. There was a knock at the doorway. The door to the room had been open, and when Jeff saw the sight standing in the doorway, the book fell out of his hands. Easily, this was the most beautiful sight he'd ever seen. Standing there, clad in a long red robe, was Rusty. She was staring at Jeff. The look in her eyes was somewhat of a challenge for him to go to her, and show her what he could do. It was a challenge Jeff was more than up to. He put the book on the book on the bedside table, and got up. Slowly, he walked over to her. The girl closed the door, and leaned against it, as Jeff reached her, and kissed. At first, he kissed her gently, sweetly, his kisses small and light. Rusty made the next move, and her tongue licked his top lip. Opening his mouth wider, his tongue came up, and met with hers. It caressed hers, and she did the same to his. But she then withdrew her tongue back in to her own mouth, and they resumed a regular kiss. However, things began to heat right back up again when Rusty put her arms around Jeff's neck. For he put his around her waist, and drew her close. Their bodies became pressed up together, and from the contact, Jeff hardened against his pants. Rusty felt Jeff groan against her lips. Her hands trailed up, under his tank, and ran her hands along his chest. Underneath her fingertips, she could feel the sculpted muscles underneath his warm skin. Jeff pulled apart from her only to pull off the tank, but then looked at her with a look of pure need in his eyes, then went right back to kissing her. In one sudden movement, he picked her up in his arms. He brought her over to the bed, and gently, lay her down on it. His hands went over the material of the robe, and slipped inside. Rusty whimpered as his hot kisses hit her neck, and one hand caressed her breast. Red silk hit the floor as Jeff untied and removed her robe. As he began to kiss a trail down her neck and through the vale between her breasts, she moaned his name. His lips went over her stomach, tongue entering her navel as he brushed his kisses near it, before he began up the same path he'd taken. When his tongue slid smoothly over her breast, he brought her nipple to a hard peak. Moaning again, louder this time, she arched her back, and ran her hands through his silken hair. As he did the same to her other breast, and suckled lightly, the girl sighed, and stroked his back. As Jeff whispered hot, simple sentences in to her ear, her hands found the button of his jeans, and undid them, pulling the black garment off of him, and leaving him only in his boxers. Jeff's fingers drew designs on her inner legs, as he looked down at her, lovingly. When he kissed her again, his fingers teased her as they stroked the wet fabric covering her. They then curled in the garment, and she raised her hips off the bed so he could pull the purple thong she'd been wearing off of her. There was now only one item of clothing on Jeff that separated them from the action they desired to engage in. So he pulled off his boxers, and pulled a blanket over them, as he climbed back over her. Rusty retrieved the foil packet Jeff had placed on the bedside table. She opened it, took out it’s contents, and let the packet flutter to the ground. Slowly, she slid the latex on over him. His hands and mouth on her body had made her wet, so he slid in to her easily. He began to move in her- very slowly. They’d fantasized about this. Dreamt about it, even, only to wake up alone in a lonely bed. So they wanted it to last. This had to be special, their first time together, and they knew it. And there was no other way they wanted it. Rusty began to move her hips to meet his every movement, her pace matching his perfectly. There was nothing around them but one another, nor did they need anything. It was turning out just as they’d imagined it had. Beautiful, sweet… This wasn’t sex. Jeff leaned down, and their tongues met soon after their lips did. Lightly, long fingernails traced up his back. Every stroke brought them closer and closer, but they were near, yet so far. However, it didn’t matter. As he stroked up against her walls, Rusty moaned, and arched her back again. She moaned his name over and over again, the throaty tones of her voice only enticing Jeff further. Neither knew how long it lasted. They only knew that they moved as one, out in the middle of nowhere, and as they furthered in to their actions, bodies became slightly slicked with sweat, rubbing up against one another until together, they came. “ Jeff, I-” Rusty started, only to have her words cut off by a moan. Jeff felt her clench around him as with a groan, he spilled himself in to the condom. They stayed there, panting as their climaxes rushed through them like water. As the last tingle left them, Jeff kissed her again, then slowly, exited her. After briefly getting up, Jeff climbed back in to bed with Rusty. He brushed some stray hairs out of her face, and drew her to him, her head resting on his shoulder, and one arm lying across his chest. One hand stroked her back as his arms surrounded her. “ Rusty, I love you so much.” Jeff kissed her forehead and whispered this to her. Rusty sighed. If she’d tried, she wouldn’t have been able to describe what it felt like to hear this, after her heart had gone through so much torment. “ Jeff, I love you, too.” “ ‘Night.” They settled in to the darkness as Jeff switched off the lamp. * * * Somehow, they all got to RAW on time and alive. Rusty sat in her locker room as she got ready for the show. There was a knock on her door. “ Come in!” She called. Lita came in. For a few moments, Rusty merely looked at the other Diva, keeping her in suspense, but finally, she smiled. Lita did back. “ I take it things went well?” The girl nodded. “ Thank you so much, Lita. I don’t know what I would have done.” Lita embraced the smaller Diva. “ You’re welcome.” As Lita left, Jeff came in to her room, and closed the door. Rusty licked her lips at one of the hot outfits he chose to wear. “ Hey.” She smiled at him, then went over, and put her arms around his neck. His snaked around her waist. “ Hey yourself.” He paused, and grinned. “ So as it turns out, Matt and Lita planned this.” Rusty nodded. “ Yeah, I know… Kind of evil, but I um… I’m really glad they did.” “ Me too. I’d still be going crazy without you.” The girl felt her heart flip-flop as he said this. “ And vice…” She paused as they leaned towards each other. “ Versa.” They said nothing more after that, for they’d joined in a kiss. *** *** *** In the Hardyz dressing room, another couple greeted each other. Lita sat down on Matt’s lap. “ So rumor has it our little plan worked.” Lita smiled to herself. “ So I heard. It was kind of mean- Jeff freaked when I told him he had to drive miles with Rusty.” Lita laughed. “ Rusty did the same thing, no big surprise.” Matt held up a hand, and shrugged. “ But it worked, so I guess we’re off the hook.” “ Yeah… I have a feeling they’re going to be really happy. They complete each other.” Lita sighed, and stared in the direction of their room. Matt kissed down her neck. “ Just like us.” ~*~
