Disclaimer: I want Nashyyyyyyyy. Kevin Nash smiled as his girlfriend sang along to the song on the radio. Rusty always had such a pretty voice. Her head bobbed along gently to the Rod Stewart song, as the words spilled with precision from her lips. Geez, this was so enjoyable. Kevin hadn't always been big on driving, but this was great. Rusty had gotten the week off, and they were making the best of it. There was only one good thing about being injured, Kevin had discovered, and that this was the fact he'd be spending more quality time with the woman he loved when she had the time. Not running around, not booking this or that… Relaxing. Instead of flying to her next event, Rusty decided that she wanted to drive with Kevin. So they rented a car, and took to the open road, he deciding that he'd fly back home when they got to Seattle. It was just the two of them. Even in the comfort of their own home, they hadn’t had privacy. Scott checking in on them every couple of weeks. Sean calling all the time to see if Kevin was recovering correctly. Rusty had been close to disconnecting the phone at times, and when she declared she would do this, Kevin told her to be careful, something like that coming from her was enough to make him have a heart attack. So there they were, on their way to drive through Yellowstone. No one was yelling, or making stupid comments. Once or twice, they'd loaded the whole nWo in to a van, and went to the next city they were to be in. And for some parts, it was fun, but the rest of the time, they all drove one another crazy. Well, that was done, there was no more of that faction. No one was pestering them about their sex life. Scott got a kick out of doing this… Well, they would never tell him, but it was fine. However, they were kind of looking for a little something extra, lately. There were never any complaints, never boredom, just… They were open to try new things, and they longed to do this… The radio began to churn out the Springsteen. Rusty knew all the words to 'Born to Run', and her fingers tapped out the beat on the window. She'd always been a rocker. Kevin noted what a great road song this had always been… " There's the exit, baby." Rusty pointed to the turnoff, and Kevin took the Chrysler off the highway. Rusty was never big on nature, being the city girl that she was. But as the aging car jittered along, she decided she kind of liked Yellowstone. They'd turned off the music, and now they could hear the birds chirping, the frogs singing. Kevin said that Eddie Vedder sounds like them. Rusty laughed, even though Pearl Jam was one of her favorite bands. She told him to never tell that to Matt or Jeff Hardy. So they drove along in the beautiful surroundings. It was summer, the trees healthy and brown, their leaves a bright green. Every now and then, they would catch sight of an animal. They saw buffalo, and deer, and birds, nothing extremely exciting. Then they saw them. A whole pack, gathered by the side of the road. A dozen or so, all colors. Magnificent creatures. Wolves. " Kev…" She breathed. Kevin glanced over, and pulled to a stop. The wolves were staring at them, as if they'd been waiting for them to arrive. Intently, they watched. Rusty felt a tugging sensation overcome her. She needed to go to them. " Kevin." " Wow…" He whispered. His girlfriend fingered the lock of the car. " We have to go to them." She said, dazed. This was not something they could do legally, exit the car, and greet the animals. " We shouldn't." " We need to…" Rusty didn't know exactly what had come over her. But these were her favorite animal, and she'd always known they'd possessed a power, so somewhere, a little part of her understood it. Kevin loved them too, so the desire Rusty had to go to them was shared by him. They wanted nothing else during those moments. There was a spot on the trail, where the trees' branches hung low. Kevin parked the Oldsmobile under it, and the long, leaf-covered branches hid the car. Before they got out, Rusty bit her lip. " Kevin? If they turn out to be…" " Vicious? I'll protect you, darlin'." Rusty nodded, and the two got out of the car. They crossed the road, and the wolves began to walk back in to the forest, looking back at Rusty and Kevin, beckoning them to follow The wolves led them through the forest, until they reached a small clearing. There, in the center, were two wolves, and male and a female. The male was a smoky gray color, and the female was a lighter gray, more of a silver. The leader of the pack, and his mate. They approached the two humans, who kneeled, and greeted them. Cold, wet noses touched warm ones. It seemed that in soul, the wolves and humans also touched. A welcome had been sent to Rusty and Kevin. And it was a welcome that was accepted. The humans spent the day with the wolves. It was fascinating. Books, websites, articles, for centuries, people have tried to dissect the true essence of the wolf. However, this has never been done. The wolf is a complex creature, you see. One that science will never truly understand. But Rusty and Kevin understood. Because they weren't trying to comprehend their ways, only experience them, with nothing else to shatter this. It seemed they were part of the pack. The wolves were kind and gentle to them, showing such politeness towards their guests. And the humans felt as if they belonged. As if they and the wolves were one in the same species. Finally, night came. The moon was full, and glowed brightly in the sky. Rusty and Kevin were brought back to that first clearing by the wolves. The pack surrounded them, and the Alpha and his mate entered the circle, bringing the humans with them. Softly, the female licked Rusty's hand. " Sister." Rusty whispered, gently stroking her fur. The she-wolf walked behind Rusty, and the leader did the same to Nash. With as much force as they could to move two humans, they nudged them towards each other. Rusty ended up in Kevin's arms, gazing up at him. For a few moments, the looked in to one another's eyes, then glanced back at the wolves. It made sense to Rusty first. " They want us to be like them…" She whispered. " Mates…" Kevin's eyes gleamed with the moonlight and starlight up above. His love nodded. " Yes." The leader and his mate showed them to a cliff. It was made of smooth rock. The pack gathered on the ledge below it. Rusty and Kevin looked at each other. Finally, he swiftly took her in to his arms, and kissed her. They kissed with an unmatched fervor. Hungrily, clothes were shed, and hands touched what was theirs to touch. Twice, thrice, perhaps four times… They lost count. The only thing they knew was that they were together. As the pack below howled for their beautiful moon, they joined. The ferocity in the wolf's nature brought a bit more of this to their actions. Nips, scratches here or there… This was what they'd been searching for. That new territory to explore in the world of sex that had become not so vast anymore. The animal instincts humans possess reared it's head and took them running through the night. They came time and time again, crying out each other's names, even howling, for it seemed natural to do so… Afterwards, they lay with the Alpha and his mate in their den. " Rusty…" Kevin stroked her hair. " You said they wanted us to be like them…" Her fingers danced along his chest. " I did…" " They're mates, darlin.' They'll be together forever… Do you want to be like that?" This was nothing short of a proposal. Rusty was silent, motionless as she considered it. They'd been together a year. But in that year, they'd felt a love that was unrivaled by any emotion they'd ever felt. Nothing meant more to them than the other. Rusty could see herself spending the rest of her life with him. And he wanted her to. So she told him yes. Author's note: Okay… I did this in an hour or so… It might not be as good as I'd have liked it to be… What did you think?
