Disclaimer: I don't own any of the Ham-Hams. I wish I did, they're so cute! Nor do I own any of their owners, except Mimi. This is my first Hamtaro fic. Be nice... ^_^ * Denotes thought* Hamtaro hopped in to his cage. And he was right on time too, for as he panted, trying to catch his breath, Laura and Kana came in to the room. *Phew* He thought. * A few seconds later, and there would have been big trouble!* " Hey, Hamtaro!" The two girls greeted him, but all he could do was smile. Laura went over to her CD Player. " Just about every one of her songs has been going through my head all day!" She sighed, and pushed play. " I know what you mean." Kana said, as the song started. " But that's not a bad thing! They're all great!" " They sure are!" * Oh, man, again?* Hamtaro sighed. If he'd tried to count how many times Laura had played this CD in the past week, he couldn't have been able to. Over and over, and that was all he knew. Oxnard had informed him he had the same problem with Kana. Laura had told Hamtaro about the music. The CD was from a new artist, Mimi. Mimi was only seventeen, and her music was sweeping the country like a wildfire, it was so good. She sang and played electric guitar like no one Hamtaro had heard. Her songs were mostly upbeat, and cheerful, and Hamtaro guessed he didn't really mind hearing them. If they'd been bad, well. That would have been a different story. Hamtaro sat, munching on a treat he'd found earlier, and watched the girls dance around the room, singing along to the music. Finally, they decided to get started on their homework, but it seemed they focused more on Mimi. " Know what the coolest thing about her is?" Laura asked, opening her notebook. " That she's from our hometown!" Kana smiled. " Yep!" * The next day, Hamtaro met Oxnard as they traveled to the Clubhouse. " So is Laura still playing Mimi's music?" The gray hamster asked. " Yeah." Hamtaro told him with a little sigh. Oxnard nibbled on his sunflower seed. " So did Laura tell you about the concert?" Hamtaro stopped. " No. What concert?" " Mimi's doing a show here in her home town. Laura came over this afternoon, before she and Kana went to the movies, and told her about Mimi's show. I think they really want to go." On their way to the clubhouse, they heard a voice call to them. " Bonjour, Hamtaro! Bonjour, Oxnard!" They recognized the voice as Bijou's and turned to see the little white hamster approaching them. " Hey, Bijou." Hamtaro greeted her. " How are you?" " Oh! Tres bien, merci! Very good, thank you! What were you two talking about?" Hamtaro told her about Mimi. " I do love music." She smiled, and they entered the clubhouse. * * * The next day, Kana came to Laura's house. She brought Oxnard with her, and the two hamsters watched the nearly ecstatic girls talk. " Did you get them?!" Kana asked. Laura reached in to her desk. " Yep! My dad got them this morning!" She showed Kana her ticket, and the two girls squealed. " Well, come on! The sun won't last in the sky forever, you know!" Laura and Kana headed to the park. The Sakura Trees were in bloom, and they were beautiful. It was a warm spring day, the air a pleasant temperature, the breezes refreshing. They walked along the path, until Kana poked Laura. " Look who I see." She sang, pointing to the soccer field. Laura looked where the other girl had been pointing, then blushed. Travis was there, playing soccer with some of his schoolmates. When he saw the two girls looking at him, he waved, and headed over. " Hey, Laura. Hey, Kana. What's up?" Kana smiled. " Hey, Travis. Nothing much is up." Travis bounced the soccer ball on his knee. " Hey. You like Mimi, right?" Laura tried to say something, but all she could do was nod. " So do I." Travis told them. " Are you going to the concert Friday night?" The girls told them they were. " Cool!" He said. " I'll be there, too. Hopefully, I'll see ya... Well, see you at school." They watched hum go off, and return to the soccer game. Laura sighed happily. Kana laughed. " I think we'll have to spend extra time getting ready now, just so you can look your best." Laura blushed even redder. * * * " Who?" Boss wrinkled his nose. " Mimi." Hamtaro told him. " She's a singer from town." Boss shrugged. " Never heard of her." Like they had to Bijou, the two Ham-Hams told Boss about the singer. As they were doing this, Sandy approached, and greeted them. Upon coming up to them, she heard a little snippet of their words. " Oh!" Stan's sister exclaimed. " Like, you're talking about Mimi, right? I love her music!" Oxnard sighed. " Where have I heard that before?" " I totally want to go to her show." Sandy sighed. Hamtaro grinned as an idea came to him. " Well, why don't we?" Boss cocked his head. " What are you saying, Hamtaro?" Laura's hamster looked around at all of them. " We should go to her concert!" He exclaimed. " All of us! It'll be fun!" * * * So it was settled. In the end, all of the Ham-Hams thought it was a great idea to see Mimi's show, so on Friday, they met at the Clubhouse, and went to the theatre together. They snuck in through a hole in the back, and climbed and climbed until they could sit on the rafters above the stage. " This was a great idea, Hamtaro." Pashmina told him, and Dexter and Howdy scrambled to get seats next to her. Hamtaro smiled, and thanked her. " Well, my friends, we meet again." Came a voice from behind them. " Like Sleeping Beauty finally awoke." The Ham-Hams turned, even though they'd already recognized the voice. " It's Jingle!" Hamtaro exclaimed. " Why is he always popping up?" Boss muttered under his breath, watching Jingle settle down next to Hamtaro, and blushing when Bijou did to him. " Jingle, what are you doing here?" " I came to see my owner's show." He told them simply. Sandy gasped. " You mean, you're Mimi's hamster?" Jingle nodded, and watched the stagehands begin to set up the instruments for Mimi's band. " I sure am. There's a lot of her in me, and vice versa, you might say. We're both wanderers, travelers, the wind is always picking us up and taking us somewhere new. But we meet up in town every so often." Hamtaro motioned to the guitar. " So that explains your guitar?" " My love for music comes from my love for Mimi." Sandy sighed. " Wow, you have the coolest owner." Maxwell put a paw on her shoulder. " I bet Hillary would love to hear that." Sandy giggled. Down on the floor, Travis ran in to Laura and Kana. He greeted the two girls, and had told them that they both looked nice. The PA system was playing some music for the audience, and the boy asked Laura to dance. Blushing, she accepted. A little bit later, the main lights went out and neon ones flashed across the stage. It seemed to the Ham-Hams that the audience exploded, as shouts and applause filled the theatre. The hamsters applauded as well, and Jingle's eyes lit up as his owner walked on to the stage. They had a strong bond, and as Hamtaro watched his response, he could tell. Mimi greeted the audience, then started the show with her biggest hit. It was an peppy song, and Maxwell pulled Sandy up to dance. An hour later, the Ham-Hams were fully in to the show, some singing along to the music if their owners were fans of the singer. But something wasn't right. Boss never really had a sixth sense, but at that moment, he'd sensed this. Nose twitching, he sniffed the air, searching for some sort of hint to what could be wrong. Wait... He knew that scent. He turned around slowly, and in the dark rafters, saw the glowing eyes of a cat. Panicked, he looked all around for something to help him, and upon looking up, he found the answer. " Bijou, don't move." He told the girl next to him. A worried look came over her face. " Why, Boss? What is it?" " Nothing..." He told her, as not to make her nervous. Quickly, he scampered over to the wall, where there were ropes holding up sandbags. He took one of the ropes in to his mouth, and hurriedly began to chew through it, as the cat stalked the Ham-Hams. Chew, chew... It was headed straight for Bijou... Chew, chew... And it was picking up speed. If he could break the rope now, he could do it... Chew, chew- Boomf! The sandbag fell on the tail of the cat, who shrieked, and scampered off. Bijou turned around just in time to see the feline departing. " Eep!" Some of her hair stood on end at the sight of the cat. Boss returned. " Boss, did you do that to the cat?" Boss told her he had. " Oh! My hero!" She snuggled up to him, and Boss felt his cheeks grow rather warm. Mimi started a slow song. A love song. It was sweet, and very romantic. Before she had started to sing it, she had told the crowd it was about someone she loved. When it was over, Boss asked Bijou, " Did you like that song?" Bijou smiled. " Oh, yes. It was lovely." Boss sighed, and trembled nervously. " Well... I... You see... That's how... I feel about... You." The girl's eyes widened. " Boss?" He looked away. " ... It's true." She smiled again. " Oh, Boss." She nuzzled him, and placed one kiss on his cheek. The show was great, but before the encore came on, they had to bid farewell to Jingle. " No encore, my friends?" Hamtaro shook his head, no. " We have to get home!" " Yes, time can be a powerful master, but it means no harm." The Ham-Hams never really knew what to say to Jingle when he started his poetry... " Um... Yeah." Boss rubbed his neck with one paw. In the other one was Bijou's. " So long." He waved. * * * Later, Laura was still too excited to go to sleep, so she wrote in her journal. " The concert was so great, Hamtaro." She told him. " Mimi's so cool. I wish you could have been there." * I WAS there, Laura! We all had a great time!* " I bet tomorrow will be even better!" She closed her journal. The End
