carries a great burden now. Said Garl with a deep voice. If these riders are very skilled then we may be able to fell the orcs should we get them in a pincer attack though I still am amazed at how powerful this king sees himself in, never order a dwarf to stay in the trees for that might be your last words is what my mother used to say uttered Erkenak. So they walked talking of these things. As they walked pass the courtyard it seems that night was falling upon them. The forests were dark and gloomy and the sound of life had quelled itself and the fires had been darkened. The sound of crickets filled the air as they headed for there appointed housing.

On the floor they found a strange looking twig that had been coated with some sort of finish. It was as hard and cold as iron now. They then tried to open the door, when it would not budge Erkenak lost it. Blast these stupid elves they give us a house but no key! I suppose we are the sleep here the entire day then? cried Erkenak. Garl whispered, Why is it that Erkenak hates elves so? lithar answered I do not know perhaps it is the fact that he lives so far up tonight and that dwarves have completely different ideals from those of elves who knows? I have found the key Kerkenak its this strange twig. With that he inserted the twig into the house and it swung open. Inside the air was very warm and inviting. There was a fragrance of freash bred and fruits in the air. It was cozy inside and made of 4 rooms. 3 of them were sleeping rooms, which were all connected to the common room where the fruits were placed. In the center there was something that frightened them at first. A burning fire! On closer inspection it was a fire indeed but it did not burn. It simply emitted light and warmth.

These elves are strange indeed. Let us not ponder this but eat our food in thanks and then sleep. Tomorrow we shall roam the city once more. So Lithar took a morsel of the large piece of bread and ate it. Indeed it was good and revitalizing. It had the flavor of honey and milk in it. The fragrance reminded him of flowers. It was not dry but so delicious so tempting to eat. It was good food indeed. Then Lithar thought of home. Back in Akaneth the warm fireplace. Laying lazily no worries except lessons from Erkenak. He remembered the smell of Dolbas emitting from outside near the local tavern. Dolbas! Erkenak said lithar as he washed his pipe in the crystal clear water. Erkenak stirred and said ah Dolbas so you should finally let me try some So Lithar filled the pipe with Dolbas and handed it to Erkenak. Erkenak lit it up with a fire he kindled from left over twigs in his sack. He took a puff and inhaled. Ah the pipe grass of the westernesse is as smooth and the sea in a clear day Said Erkenak in content.

So it came to pass that there eventful first day at the Elven city ended. They slept soundly and woke ready to again start on their journey.

They departed and decided to spend the day wandering the city taking in the sites. So they left. It was not until the slumbergrass had worn off and in the brightness of daydid they notice how massive the city was. It seemed that it was divided in 10 parts. 8 of them were living areas. 1 of them was a forest garden and the other was the Kings hall. All of this was assembled in a circular form in which the kings hall lay in the center and garden surrounded the massive citadel. So they deciphered that they were in the southern portion of the city because they traveled north to arrive at the Kings hall. Thus they began to travel south to reach the forest garden. After walking for half an hour or so, they finally arrived at the forest garden. They passed under a giant archway in which two towers to the east and west of them stood tall and had archers positioned there ready to fire. They were permitted in and once the entered they found themselves gradually walking upwards. The whole citadel though hundreds of feet from the ground was made to look like they were still in a forest. The garden trees made the city look extremely welcoming to elves Lithar assumed.

They went into the first section of the forest. Inside the forest garden was a trickling stream that went past them watering the roots of thirsty plants. The fragrance of fruit filled the air. Then ahead they saw Egoras walking towards them.

The forces are prepared. We may leave at anytime. Said Egoras What about the kings orders? asked Erkenak. Ah that. It will be ok because I am the king!
