Can a collection of gears and programs truly be said to be
"alive?" Should machines be given "rights" at the expense of your family?
Reasonable people can disagree on this crucial issue. What is not open to
debate is that the current Mann Act, as written, is a deeply flawed and
poorly thought-out piece of legislation. While its supporters are no doubt
in a rush to correct what they see as an "injustice," the rest of us must
be sure that any law which will fundamentally and irrevocably change the
balance of political and social power in our nation has been put together
with a great deal more thought. Whether you are "For" or "Against" the
emancipation of AI's, you need to vote NO on the Mann
Act Referendum.
