-Some Character History: Sandis Arlington is a two time BJWC NA Champion. He held the NA Belt longer than anyone else in BJWC history [eight months]. He is a three time BJWC World Champion. He is a one time NWA TV Champion, one time NWA NA Champion, and two time GCW Champion...
Sandis Arlington grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, raised by his father, Guy Arlington, but never really knew his mother--she passed away in a fatal car accident when Sandis was only three.
Guy Arlington became an alcoholic shortly after the passing of his wife. Alcohol seemed like the only way for him to truly escape his problems, and he turned to it frequently. Sandis was there as a sitting duck in the drunken rages his father experienced. Sandis was beaten every night, and when he was 16 he was beaten within an inch of his life. Opposed to the idea of calling the police, Sandis left the house, heading for destination: Somewhere Better Than This.
He hitchhiked his way to Minnesota where he met good friend and mentor, Lanier Riley. Lanier was a BJWC Champion at the time, and he took Sandis under his wing to teach him the art of wrestling. After six years of training Sandis joined a small federation on the outskirts of Minneapolis, known as the wIw. He won the wIw Title two times in his tenure, and when Lanier saw fit, he pulled him up to the BJWC, where Lanier had been a two time Champion.
Sandis hit some rough waters in the BJWC. Owned by BJ himself, the man who claimed to be "The Evil Boss," Sandis had a hard time fitting into the rugged system of fighting there. He wasn't used to taking on men of such vast greatness.
Lanier "Strictly Business" Riley, though, wasn't going to give up, because he was getting old. He knew that someone had to carry the Torch of Legacy when he retired, and he'd worked so long on Sandis that he wasn't going to just quit there. Sandis began spending week in and week out in gyms, getting stronger, getting faster, getting quicker. He was on a strict regime that hovered over ritual and superstition. Every morning when Sandis woke up, he consumed two raw eggs, an orange, and two baby carrots. It was his lifestyle, it was his way, and it was working.
Whether it was the workouts or the superstitions that paid off is for better men to judge. Sandis Arlington returned to the BJWC 6 months after he had originally entered, and he was more fit and more feared than ever. His first BIG BJWC victory came against "The Hardcore Pizan" Dante Calavria. Dante was a two time North American Champion, and a current Television Champion. Sandis beat him in the center of the ring, delivering the "Tragic Ending," rupturing Dante's spine, and sending him into a state of paralyzation for over three months.
Fame blanketed Sandis after his match with Dante, and he was thrown into the second main event at Rage Wars, with soon to be rival, Merlin Reynolds. Merlin was the current North American Champion, and Sandis had long dropped his TV Belt, for it "made me feel inferior."
His classic battle with Merlin Reynolds was the first of many to come, and it was voted match of the year for 1999. They battled inside a steel cage for over 40 minutes, at which point Merlin finally ended it. After the match, Dan Dehart, Reaper, "The Icon" Tyler Lee and Brandon Lloyd all came down, punishing Sandis with vicious rights, lefts, elbows, etc. Sandis was in a hospital for two weeks recovering from the beating at the hands of the Law [composed of Dan, Reap, Tyler, Merlin and Lloyd].
When he got out of the hospital he vowed to seek revenge on the BJWC's most feared group. He and Lanier both tore through the rankings, breaking and destroying anyone who set foot on their soil. Goldfest was the next PPV extravaganza, and Sandis was once again pitted against arch nemesis, Merlin Reynolds.
Another classic match, this one with a different outcome. Sandis hit the Tragic Ending at the end of the match, went for the cover, but in came Dehart. Sandis disposed of him, but more Law members were on their way down. Half way down the ramp, though, Lanier met each and every one of them with a devastating thrust to the head with a steel chair. Sandis made the pin in the middle of the ring, and was the BJWC North American Champion, while Lanier held the World Title.
With both of them being the highest ranked Champs, they felt on top of the world. Nothing could stop them. Until the terrible night at the weekly event called Riot. Sandis Arlington was forced to face Merlin Reynolds in another epic battle, this one two months apart from their last ousting.
Once again the Law played a part. The match ended with Sandis winning it, but only via DQ. Not the victory he wanted. The entire Law beat down on Sandis, nearly crippling him. But that wasn't the biggest blow. Lanier Riley came down to ringside to help Sandis, a steel chair planted firmly in his hand, and he cleared out the Law. He helped Sandis get to his feet with the Law still standing around at ringside, and when Sandis got to his feet, he delivered the blow that broke Sandis' heart and mind, the blow that he claims he'll never forget. He planted the base of that steel chair right into Sandis' head. He then got on the microphone and disgraced Sandis Arlington, saying how he would never be as good as him. His mentor, his teacher, his BEST friend turned on him. It would've killed any man. But not Sandis.
Sandis learned from the conniving ways of his former best friend. He learned that you don't have to outwrestle your opponent, just outthink him. He began plotting devious after devious attacks on the Law, and included no partners. He had no equals. He had no peers. He was by himself, and he had a mission.
Sandis beat Reaper on Tuesday Night Riot. He beat Tyler Lee at Bloodlines. At the PPV, Sandis beat Merlin Reynolds once again, taking the tie of 1-1, not counting the DQ. He was considered at the top of his game. Then, on Riot, to determine who would face Lanier Riley at Love Hurts [the February event], Sandis Arlington had to face Dan Dehart, now a 4 time Champion in the BJWC.
He beat Dehart. Right in the center of the ring, and manager Damien Persons came out and tripped Lanier Riley to assure he couldn't' get in the ring. That was the start of some sort of relationship; Damien was the only man that Sandis could trust.
Sandis had one member of the Law left before he could claim being masterful: only Lanier Riley. Only the man who taught him everything he knew. Only the man who picked him up off the streets and gave him a place to sleep. Only his best friend, only his best mentor, only his best father, only his worst enemy. Love Hurts was being hyped up abundantly, and how the hype lived up to it all.
Sandis beat Lanier in what was called the most grueling match of BJWC history. It won an award for being best match and best feud of the year. It certainly lived up to its credentials. Lanier Riley delivered his "Strictly Biz Drop" on Sandis on three occasions. Neither of them pinned him. Lanier wrapped his legs around the ringpost, slapping on a figure four, later finding out that that tore Sandis' ACL and MCL. Yet he still went on. Lanier got clumsy, threw Sandis off the ropes, and went for a back body drop. Lanier always told Sandis that you never do those moves, because you never get in a position where you can't see your opponent. Lanier was looking at the ground. He wasn't looking at Sandis. Sandis put him in a standing headscissors, and Lanier didn't bother fighting it. He knew what he had taught Sandis. He knew once he was there it was over. He knew that if he tried to fight it, it would just kill his dignity and integrity. Sandis Arlington delivered the devastating piledriver, the move that he touted as the Tragic Ending for so long. He draped a single hand over Lanier, and the ref counted.
It was over. Sandis had beaten his fears, and he had achieved his dreams. He was the BJWC World Champion. He couldn't defend it, though. He tore his leg up too badly. He went into reconstructive surgery, but it didn't help entirely too much. Now he's in the PW. Although his knee is still a bit weak, he's ready. Lanier is currently retired, and is hailed in the BJWC Hall of Fame as one of the greatest. He was a three time Heavyweight Champion. He was a two time NA Champion. He held the Tag Titles four times. He was the Wrestlebowl Champion. And he was a helluva teacher. And a helluva match. Now Sandis just lives out the legacy.
-Gimmick/ Character's General Description: His gimmick is he is a kaniving, lying con-artist. He will never stay with a faction for too long, always quick to turn his back on his friends. He's not a hermit, he just likes to get the better of people.
-Manager's Name: Damien Persons
-Manager's Description: Damien Persons has short black hair, also, but his is brittle and aged. Bald patches are scattered throughout his shiny head, and he's usually found in a hat. Damien is a smartass, and he's always quick to take a cheap shot. He does this because he knows Sandis will stick up for him. He's a very weak man, and if the enemy gets their hands on him, he'd be dismantled. He is about 5'10", 185 pounds.
