Kurt had me search this recipe out for him a while back. Not to bad, and it was pretty easy.

Hamburger Soup

Brown together in 1 Tbsp. oil:
1 lb. Hamburger
3 large sliced onions

Add, and simmer covered for 2 hours;
1 quart crushed tomatoes
2 qts water
4 chicken cubes
1 tb salt
1/2 tsp whole peppercorns
1/2 cup barley (I use pearl)
a touch of cayenne pepper
1 tbs cajun spices

Then add and simmer 1 more hour;
3 diced carrots
3 diced potatoes
3 sliced stalks of celery
1 tsp A-1 sauce
1/2 tsp worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp ground pepper
1 or 2 bay leaves
