Philanthropy
"To lend to those less fortunate a helping hand."
Our chapter has two main philanthropies to which we contribute.

Like all Phi Mu chapters, our main philanthropy is
Children's Miracle Network.  Every year we raise funds through various events, such as candy sales and gift wrapping.  The funds raised in the Chicago area benefit Children's Memorial Hospital, which provides quality health care for children, regardless of their parents' financial status.

Our local philanthropy is the
Community Crisis Center, located in Elgin, IL and sponsored by the United Way.  The Center provides a shelter for abused women and children who are victims of domestic violence as well as for the homeless.  Not only does the Center provide a safe haven, but the volunteers man a crisis hot-line and provide education to the community regarding domestic violence and sexual assault.
