| Meet one of the smartest dogs I have ever known. Lucky Juan is about 7 years old, neutered male who weighs about 37 pounds. He is house trained, crate trained and his passion is playing ball (his rules) and playing with toys. He came to us as a stray from animal control.
Lucky Juan has been working very hard and has learned to walk on a lead like a pro and can go out and do his business on lead with no problem. He can understand complete sentences which very few dogs are able to do and Milk Bones are his very favorite treat. He sits on command if you have a treat in your hand. I am sure he would learn other commands easily. He has accumulated as his personal possessions a doggie bed, retractable lead, winter coat, a doggie bone toy box, lots of toys and balls (his favorites), blankets and has his own very cool Harley Davidson hat. This is one happy boy and smiles all the time. He loves to play ball (his rules) and if you get tired of playing ball with him, he can pop a racket ball out of his mouth, bounce it on a wall and catch it again. He also can unwrap a water hose, turn the water on and spray something with the water hose. He lives for being able to ride in a vehicle and will sit and watch all the vehicles that go by while traveling. He is definitely not one of those dogs that puts his nose on the windows either which is a definite plus. Lucky Juan says he would like to be a trucker dog so he could takes rides all the time but it would also be cool just to get his own home and family. Due to his size, and energy, he would not work in a home with younger children.....teenagers would be a plus for him to play ball with. He is highly animal aggressive so he must be in a home where there are no other animals around and it would be nice if he had a fenced yard to go outside with you to play. This is non-negotiable and unchangeable. Please do not ask us about adopting him if you have other animals in your home. If you currently have no animals in your home, are dog savvy and do not spend a great amount of time in places with other animals (meaning your parents or children or siblings do not bring their dogs over to your home for Holidays, etc) Lucky Juan could make the most wonderful companion you might ever know! If you are interested in giving Lucky Juan a home, contact [email protected] for an application and information about our rescue program. Lucky Juan and I thank you. Update: Lucky Juan is now on Thyroid medication twice daily for an underactive thyroid. We have gotten his meds leaveled out. The cost of this medication is very inexpensive ($40.00 approx for 3 months) and he loves to take it with either creme cheese or pill pockets...............he thinks they are a treat!! www.nationwidebostonrescue.org |

| Meet Shirley!
Shirley came into our program after being dumped at shelter, but you would never know it! She loves people dispite being let down by her first owners. She just wants to give you kisses, sit in your lap and do whatever she can to make you happy! And she is a very unique Boston Terrier, too!! While she is absolutely a pure bred Boston...she has a special trait that comes from her ancestors, but long ago became recessive! Shirley has a tail...a long tail! And she wags it like you have never seen a dog wag a tail :-) It shows you how happy she always is, which is all the time! Boston Terriers were bred with crosses between an English Bulldog and a now extinct English White Terrier. So she has something from her ancestors, and they don't even exist anymore - how fantastic is that??? Here are a couple of links on the English White Terrier if you want to read a bit about them. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_White_Terrier http://www.milouchouchou.com/fiche_race.php?alpha=1419 Shirley is a bundle of love, up-to-date on all shots, altered, heartworm negative. Crate trained, 24.5 pounds, appears to be housebroken. About a year old, give or take. Likes to eat in her crate. She is a bit apprehensive when first meeting with a dog, but anyone who is dog savvy can deal with that issue with no problems. So she is ready to start her new life, in a Forever Home where she will be treated like the special Kid she is!! Are you the right home for Shirley??? If so, please contact Brenda [email protected] for an application and information about our rescue program |
