Build your own mirror and handrail; perfect for infants who want to be toddlers!  All the materials may be purchased at Home Depot.

Assembly consists of two, 4 X 1, rubber-backed door mirrors secured horizontally on a wall separated by a board in between.

The center board separating the mirrors is 4 X 3 . A second, narrower piece of wood is attached to the back side measuring 4 X 2 X .
The purpose of this second piece of wood is to create a space between the piece of wood and the wall, allowing a groove for the mirrors to fit on the top and bottom.

The rail is a 4 X 1 dowel rod with decorative knobs screwed to the each end.  Cut the rod so that the total length is 4 after the end knobs are installed. These knobs shown in the picture were special ordered from Home Depot.  Mount the rail to the center board using two handrail supports.  Stain and varnish the rail and center board.

Attach the center board to the wall so that the rail is about 21 from the floor.  Try to mount in the studs. The studs are usually spaced 24 on an inside wall and 16 on an outside wall.  If you cant locate at least two studs, you should use toggle bolts.

Position the mirrors in the grooves and secure to the wall using mirror clips.  Do not over-tighten the clips or you risk breaking the mirror if the wall if not perfectly straight.

It is a fast and easy project.  Your baby will appreciate the home improvement!
