This is the main intersection in Sulligent and Lamar County. On 278 to the east is Beaverton and Guin, to the west Gattman and Amory, MS. From here to Vernon on AL17 is a 4-lane undivided hwy w/ a 60MPH Speed Limit. (2/4/04)

End signage of Western end of AL102, this is just North of Fayette. Another view of this intersection is on the other page. (2/14/04)

This is the southern end of AL233 in Glenn Allen. This part of AL233/AL129 is a very old section of US78. (2/14/04)

This is the southern end of AL129. This is just south of AL102 end north of Fayette. Another view of this intersection is on the other page. (2/14/04)

This is the eastern end of AL44 in Brilliant, straight on takes you to downtown Brillant, to the right is Winfield and left Halleyville. (2/14/04)

AL142 is an old section of US278 in Guin. This is one of only two AL142 signs up. (2/14/04)

This is a view of the AL159/171 insection coming from Fayette. (2/14/04)

This is an end signage of AL159 at the same intersection as pictured above, as you can tell it is raining here. (2/14/04)

This is the beginning of the AL17/96 marriage in South Lamar (aka Millport & Kennedy). AL17 to the south goes thru numerous rural towns such as Reform, Aliceville, York and Butler on to its way to Mobile. (2/14/04)

This is in Millport, unlike Kennedy in the last picture, coming from Vernon as you see the beginning of the AL17/96 multiplex. To the right AL96 become MS50 and continues to Columbus. (2/14/04)

This is the main intersection in Vernon with AL17 and AL18. To the North is Sulligent, East is Fayette, and West is Columbus, MS. Its starting to rain alot now.(2/14/04)

Sorry to jump around, but were back out side of Glen Allen on Old Glen Allen Road as we see an older type of AL233 sign. (2/14/04)

This is in Twin, no not Yampertown, the "To" US78 sheild is new since the last time I had been there. Also they are a short multiplex of AL253 and AL44 in Twin. (2/14/04)

The ending of multiplex of AL44/AL253 in Twin, as you can see the new "To US78" sheild here too. (2/14/04)

As you can see the end signage of AL44 in Guin, and the remains of US78 in Guin. This is also a hint that US78 will return to its original route once I-22 is completed, or just laziness? (2/14/04)

Alabama Highway 278? Yes it should be US 278, just a goof in the community of Crews. Over in Amory, they are many MS278 signs, so Alabama had to join the crowd. (2/14/04)

An old sign of AL233 on Marion County Road 38(?), just north of Corridor X in the community of Rock City. (2/14/04)

This is an old Hwy 17 sign in Vernon on County Road 26, its hard to see since it has moss on it, I would of took time to get a better picture but it was raining, and didn't want to get wet. (2/14/04)
