Video Reviews
Seek and Destroy

by Little Devil

This is a great movie that was made a few years back.  It's standout riders include Van Homan, Pat Juliff, Marvin Lotterle and Derek Adams, along with a host of others. The great riding; street, dirt, and park, is almost overtaken by the conccert footage from a hardcore concert.  The destruction there is amazing.  I'm not really into baseball bats wrapped in barbed wire, but this movie would get a pretty good rating from me.

This is an excellent movie.  The clips of the X-games may be a little overused, but they show a lot more riders than ESPN does.  The interview with Seth Kimbrough is great and his level of riding is amazing for a teenager.  Get this movie, I definately reccomend it.

Well, let me start off by saying that the funniest thing on the movie is when Ralph Sinisi goes ballistic and sarts beating on his bike and the cameraman during his profile.  Ralph also has some super smooth gaps to grinds and other srteet elements. The park tour with Nathan Wessel gets a little repetive after a whil, but the riders keep you from watching MTV or something...

I know this has been said many times before, but this has got to be the best and most innovative video of the last few years.  (I haven't seen all of Baco 9 or Criminal Mischief, so don't bite my head off...)  The rider parts are plain amazing, Josh Heino, Ralph sinisi, Nate Hanson, Mike Escamilla, and the list goes on...
Street, Ramps, Dirt, and a little flat are all covered in this video.  If you have money, go buy it, if not, put a hat on the sidewalk and dance untill you have enough, then run and buy it.

My copy of this video was a little fuzzy so if anyone disagrees, I'll blame it on that.  Some people complain about there being to many non-riding scenes in this one but I think that it adds a healthy dose of humor.  Stand out sections come from Shoe-G, Chris Moeller and a barrage of others.

This movie has got to be one of the most groundbreaking movies of the last few half years.  The level of riding is jaw-droppng.  Riders like Dave Friemuth and Jim Reinstra know about a million ways to ride a ramp.  Dave pegstalls a chip out of a wall at onw akatepark.  With a good mix of Park, dirt, street, flat, and Faris, this movie will not leave you dissapointed.  YOu might not want to invite your parents to watch with you though.

Take a walk down retro lane with this groovy vid.  Riders like Dave Friemuth, Chad deGroot, Aaron Bhenke, and many other rippin riders shred to a soundtrack of bands like the 'Stones and Dire Straight. pretty sweet for an old (1997) movie.  Buy it.

This is definately one of the best bmx films ever made.  It has amazing flow and two rider sections stand out to me.  Jason Enns and Van Homan.  At the end of his rad section, Enns pulls a tailwhip-maunal-feeble line that I watched 4 times.  Van's section is just unreal.  I'll leave it at that.  This guy is the deffinition of street.  Other riders include Pat Juliff, Byrnes, Berringer and more.

this video is the latest from Ride BMX magazine.  It takes a little different approach to the video, instead of a bunch of random sections, each rider has their own seperate section.  Standout sections from Jim C, van homan, and others.

This instructional video from RideBMX is meant to be an intro into the bmx sport.  There are sections on flatland, street, park and dirt.  Hosted by Rob-O and with sections from many others, this is a good video to borrow off a  friend, but not good enough to buy yourself.

This video gives a great profile on Garret Byrnes as well as a 2-Hip contest at Chenga World Skatepark, a scene report from Michigan and some dirt jumping.  The Byrnes interview I thought  was extremely well done.

Fourteen of the worlds best riders are unleashed on Europe.  This movie has some of the nicest riding I have seen in a long time.  Dave Osato and Reuben Alcantara have the smoothest style of any rider out there.  Manuals to tailwhips, huge wedge to wallride to tailwhip.  Crazy.  A new person that I got to see ride was German Alex Bender, he has such sweet mini ramp style it's impossible to describe.
