Capwiz

 

Welcome to Capwiz.  Capwiz is a grassroots political action web site service.  The service has been purchased by NASCOE for a period of three years.  It is to be used as a conduit to all members who have registered bringing legislative information to their personal web site.  It will also bring an easy way for you to contact your congressional representatives with e-mails.  In some cases NASCOE will provide the letter for you.

 

One major aspect of this is the use of personal email addresses. Membership shall only use their personal e-mail when subscribing to this service.  Failure to do so will result in the subscription being stripped from the action alert listing by the CapWiz site monitor.

 

 Capwiz has 5 major functions:

 

1. An Action Alert system to easily contact your representatives

 

Ø      This may be the most important aspect of  Capwiz

Ø      NASCOE will be able to compose a letter on an issue and put it on Capwiz

Ø      Contact you by email of the letter on the site if you are on the action E-list

Ø      You will then be able to send the email to all your Representatives with just an a couple of clicks of your mouse

 

 

2. A search  area to locate your congressional representatives:

 

Ø      It will give you all your congressional contacts for your zip code

Ø      It will allow you to see how your representatives voted on issues during the past several weeks

Ø      It gives you the ability to individually contact representatives

 

 

3. An area to follow issues and legislation important to NASCOE:

 

Ø      It shows all current action alerts that are active

Ø      It has current legislation

Ø      IT shows Key votes that are going to be taken

 

 

4. An election results area that:

 

Ø      Shows voter information

Ø      Allows you to browse election races

Ø      Show voter information

Ø      Gives you the ability to register to vote

Ø      Gives key election dates

 

 

5. A Media guide area for letters to the editor, and to locate news outlets that:

 

Ø      Allows you to send messages to national and local Media

Ø      Can find local media for any zip code

 

Additionally

 

n      You can sign up for automatic email alerts when a contact needs to be made

 

n      There is area where you will sign-up to be put on the mailing list

n      You need to fill out all the information and you will be put on the mailing list

n      REMEMBER DO NOT USE A USDA

n      You can sign up to get a listing of your representatives votes weekly by email

 

n      Get legislative information by email

n      You can pick a State or your Zip code

n      Will show you key votes that your representatives make

n      Will give you information about upcoming votes in Congress

 

n      You can send information to others by email.

 

n      You can send information and actions that you took to a friend

n      This is a good way to spread the website information

n      You can get additional e-mails out to your representatives
