In 1926 the volcano Mount Etna erupted and a flow of lava destroyed the Italian town of Mascala. You visited the site and were able to make detailed observations about the molten lava as it cooled.
You have calculated that the lava contracted by 5% as is solidified.
You wish to take more measurements using lava from different volcanoes. However, you know that most substances contract as they cool down. You think this is evidence in favor of a Shrinking Earth theory.
