A couple of weeks ago, you learned how to tell how old things
are.
This week and next week, you will be learning how scientists
think the Earth has changed over time, by looking at rocks and
fossils and by using the present as the key to the past.
The class' task: Make a scale model of the geologic time scale.
Each group will contribute a portion to this scale.
On the scale, 1 cm will stand for 1 million years.
Here are the links to help you construct your portion of the
scale:
The
Full Geologic Time Scale - No matter what else you find on
the web, use the dates here on the scale. Plus, there are some
great links from this page. "Mya" stands for "Million
years ago."
