To answer your question:

You asked me, Dont you ever wonder what it would be like if wed gotten married?  I said something visceral in response, but in my heart there was a different answer.
I looked at you and remembered the December night we were running late for everythingfor the chamber orchestra at the Kennedy Center, for our dinner reservations at Paper Moon.  We were so hungry we thought we were going to starve when the maitre d said the kitchen was closed.  So we stood in front of the restaurant not knowing what to do.  Then, you put your arms around me and kissed me.
I remember four lips becoming one.  I remember the sound of snowflakes fluttering by my ears and melting on my shoulders.  I remember the light from stars searching the sidewalk for us.  I remember everything disappearing except the feeling of the side of your cheek and the tip of your nose against mine.  Then, the taste of you sated me.
I never wonder what it would be like if wed gotten married.
