I am an Eagle Scout Class of 1988 with a dream to break the World's Record 24 hour walk, that is 142 miles 440yds. When I do this walk, I want to raise money for the following organizations(Meals on Wheels, American Lung Associate, American Heart Associate, American Cancer Society and American Diabetic Associate). I am walking at the speed of 6 to 7 miles per hour or for every 1 minute is 1/10 of a mile or 10 minutes a mile and getting faster. I have asthma and will not let it or anything else stand in my way for I am determined to make my dreams come true. I just completed a 5K race and walked it in 35 minutes on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2002. On Saturday, Sept. 20, 2003, the same 5K race I completed the walk in 32 minutes. (Beating the time by 3 minutes). To prepare myself ready to attempt the 24 hour walk, I will need to walk for 12 hours. I will use the rules for the World's Record. In the rules for every 2 hours is a 10 minute break. My goal for 12 hours is 75 to 80 miles.
