Secrets Of The Morning

As the first rays of the new day,
Start shimmering above the horizon,
A fair princess and her trusty nurse,
Tiptoe quietly out of the castle.
Sneaking into the garden,
Glistening in all the morning hues.

To her special spot she goes,
Waiting for her man.
A secret rendezvous, that was planned.
How she has longed for this moment,
To feel his loving embrace,
Just one last time.

For her father the king,
Had promised her hand,
To a powerful prince,
In some far off strange, and distant land.
Time was running short,
Her wedding just two days away.
No matter what her father did or said,
Her heart would always belong to this man,
Her secret love.

Her heart skips a beat,
As her secret love emerges from the bushes,
And walks towards her.
Gazing deeply in her loves' eyes,
Wrapped in his loving embrace.
She would savour this moment,
One last time.
