a word on america

i am moving to another country, for many reasons, but especially because i am definitely not "proud to be an american."  the current administration, or should i say debauchary, has taken strides to "liberate iraq" and "fight terrorism," but what it really has done is further alienate america from the world.  our oil mongering and imperialistic military has completely strayed from the ideal american way and taken us into a category looking more like england in the 18th century... the whole reason america separated itself from the imperialists in the first place!  all of this is happening while the whorish conservative right cheers on the bush administration, citing bible verses, war stories, and cnn exclusives as support for the "just cause" of the administration.  this is the same group of people who have angered the french with shallow remarks about their country because they rightly refused to participate in an unjust war.  the notion of "freedom fries" and "freedom toast" as opposed to their real names just sickens me with guilt about being an american.  in a span of five months, we have managed to alienate two main allies, france (an ally for damn near 300 years), and germany (one of the richest and most powerful nations in the world), just because they wouldn't "combat terrorism" and "weapons of mass destruction" that weren't really there.  they should be the ones making fun of our country, not vice versa.
thank goodness there is a large ocean on both sides of this country, and civil states to the north and south because there would be many more problems to deal with if it wasn't this way.  well, according to bush, all of our problems can be solved... with a war and a tax cut for the rich, all at the same time.  now i don't have to have a doctorate in economics to realize that both a war and a tax cut at the same time is definitely not good business.  fix the real problems, bush... domestic hardships and keeping this country the way clinton left it.
