Do you believe in anything supernatural?

Yes, I do believe in the existence of ghosts, as well as "signs" that may come from a deceased family member of friend-- this latter one would be due to personal experience after the death of my mom.jazmommy 6/6/03

No. Perhaps someday real scientific proof will change my mind.

I don't know. ESP yeah, I think there are things we don't understand about the human brain and I could see this as one of them. As for the rest, I don't really know. And if there are ghosts, or if we have souls, doesn't matter to the here and now. And since I don't have ESP it doesn't really affect my life either .

I'm not really sure about that either. My gut says no, but I'm really not sure.
steph4980 6/6/03

No, but I could be wrong. The logical part of me says no, but the over active imagination that has watched too many horror movies says "you never know". If you are looking for one simple answer, then the answer is no. Ghosts don't make a whole lot of sense to me because I would think that they would be everywhere due to how many people have died in the last 2 million years. And what happens to them when the sun eventually blows up and takes the earth out with it? A soul to me is just someone's unique personality when they are ALIVE. ESP and psychic powers are just coincidences and/or results of mentalists playing mind games in order to profit off the impressionable.

No. I've tried to, a few times, but I can't. If I had a Bible of any sort, it would be Sagan's "A Demon Haunted World", and after reading that, there's not a chance I could ever hold a belief in anything like that....
LoreleiG 6/8/03

To a point. I believe I've felt the presense of my beloved, departed cats. I've dreamed of events that happened mere days/weeks later (B- on book report for "Red Badge of Courage", that I was pregnant, Oakland fire of October 1991). I believe in magicks because I'm channeling my energies to effect change...if performing a ritual in private using candles and chants helps me, so be it.

No. I used to believe in ghosts as a child and really wanted to believe in ESP, but there is no scientific evidence of either one,.
squishys_mom 6/13/03

I have seen things I cannot explain. I have felt sensations I cannot explain. I cannot prove that they exist but believe is also the wrong word. Let's just say I am aware of these differences in time & space. Like when you feel a hand on the back of your neck and nobody is there, you cannot jump and say "Whoa that was a ghost/dead person's spirit running around." There may be a whole bunch of things the human eye can't see so who's the say a whole other species/animals/whatever live around us who we cannot see?
Cindi_Doll 6/17/03

No, I find it interesting but nothing I have seen to date convinces me that any of it exists. Maybe time and science will change that.

"I sort of believe in ghosts, but maybe it`s wishful thinking that you`r loved ones are still around you.I`m quite fascinated by paranonormal things, but part of me is skeptical." --

"No souls, afterlife or ghosts.
Are people who claim to see them or other paranormal things crackpots, some of them to be sure. Most I think are simply misinterprepting events for whatever reason." --

"I dunno... I personally waffle between the **Nope, when you're gone, you're just GONE/no scientific proof of soul/spirit/etc** argument and the **There are things out there that are beyond our comprehension at the moment** argument. I do think there are a fair number of quacks who claim to be "spiritually gifted" - mostly for the money and/or noteriety. On the other hand, I've also had some rip-roaring cases of deja vu in my lifetime (that have bordered on entirely bizarre) and who's to say that some "psychics" don't experience the same thing, just to a more amplified degree? So part of me does feel like spirits/souls are out there. I just feel firmly that they aren't explained by an outdated dusty old book of folktales or a politically-motivated set of beliefs." --
