Do you believe in any form of spirituality?

I do not belive in a spirit/soul so I tend to say no. Some people define spirituality differently though.  saradon71 6/27/05

"Yes, in the sense that you can be connected with your own feelings, with nature in a sense.... no if it means a belief in a higher power." --
BethMum2CoopandLaine, 6/27/05

"Yes. And I believe it is important for one to nurture their spirituality in a way that feels right for them, regardless of whether one believes in a higher being."

Sorta, it's hard to explain.

I think this word means something different to everyone but no for me.

If by spirituality you mean one set of rules of behavior that are going to get you treated any differently after you die, no. I think that's just silly.
JupitersOlive, 6/27/05

I do,but it's spiritual in the 'Oprah's-find your-inner-spirit' sort of way.
silvermisfit13, 6/27/05

sort of, but its from within not without.

spirit is self-knowledge, self-consciousness

As far as some part of us separate from our physical body? No, I do not. I believe our spirit, or soul is part and parcel of our physicality and intellect, and inseparable. I also believe that we can choose to live mindful of our inner selves, and heedful of our own inner voice. I believe that we can also choose to live in community with others, bringing together the wonderful uniqueness of each individual to create something of value. That is the essence of spirituality for me.

Nope.
cgeoffroyi, 6/27/05

...I don't "believe in" spirituality. I feel spirituality as a oneness with nature and connectedness to other things.
KimberlyK4, 6/27/05

Since everything we know and feel is derived directly or as an abstract of physical stimuli, the idea of a spirit or soul without a physical body has no real meaning. So, no to that question.
nikiharris 6/27/05

Yes, similar to what some pps have said. Mostly a connection with nature, that we are all a part of a bigger system (the earth, the universe), and finding our place in it.
jmw78, 6/27/05

Not personally - but I can see the spirituality of others. I appreciate seeing it in others - it adds to my human experience.
mjenifer 6/27/05

Yes, but being spiritual does not automatically mean I believe in God or belong to some organized religion where you have to pay tithing and they tell me I have to do a bunch of things in order to go to a nice place like heaven.
doctoralchick1 6/27/05

No.
BCHOSTMamaG, 6/27/05

Not in the Xian sense, no.
JeniUK, 6/27/05

Spirituality to me is a very objective idea. I could easily answer this question "no", but I might also define spirituality as an impactful quasi-intangible. In that regard my spirituality highlights my general contentedness that I get to be a part of this ride. My belief is that life is finite, there is so much of interest, so much beauty, so much compelling (in both negative and positive ways), in animal, plant, rock and space... It's a good gig and I am moved by that often. --

I definately don`t believe in any gods.Bhuddism appeals to me as they don`t worship Bhudda as a god,he was just a great man who tried to make the world a better place.
pylea, 6/28/05

No.
reef19, 6/28/05

I define spirituality for myself as my expanding awareness of my place in the cosmos, the creation of peace, understanding, wisdom, and happiness within myself, actively living in accordance with my spirituality, and being open to change for the better.
babycosmosmom 6/28/05

"Only internal, at this point. I still think of some people in terms of 'being very spiritual' and whatever they want to call it, I think it comes from inside." --
