THE UNTRUTH PLOT

the untrue tales...   manifest when wrong speech spreads like fire from untamed tongues  OR

becomes an ironic blessing when one shuts out from them  ?

the hurtful mind...  remains restless when one refuses to let go of grudges and hatred OR

resolves the troubled state of another hurtful being  ?

prologue:

acquaint with kopi di, david, toa cah soh, lak kor and lim soh, as you listen to their inner world

act 1 scene 1: COFFEE SHOP

kopi di makes an prelude to the play

act 1 scene 2: COFFEE SHOP

the aunties gather at kopi di's coffee shop for an afternoon tea and their usual vigorous exchange of trivial talks.

here, lak kor flares up on kopi di's upright reaction, thus straining a neutral relationship to their subsequent uneasiness

act 1 scene 3:DAVID'S SALON

laugh over david's comical attempt in his self-choreographed dance and song as he begins with "There was once a little boy..." with

segments of exclaims in "I'm professional !".

david's over-exaggerating hyperactivity somehow could not mask jenny's troubled mind as she confides in him,

while lim soh begins speculating their relationship and making guesstimates on jenny's 'unnatural' behaviour.

act 2 scene 1: BACK TO THE COFFEE SHOP

a troubled lim soh returns to the coffee shop and frivolous speech begins as the aunties twist the facts

        'much to their delight'.

jenny's mother, mrs chan pays kopi di a visit at the shop, with an unexpected outcome that is soon to follow.

act 3 scene 1: BACK TO THE SALON

pin-points, reprimands, sarcasms will finally disintegrate... as tongues speak of the untruth, the matter blows up like a

        balloon that will eventually burst.

epilogue:

            gossips harm

            false speeches hurt

            the wise ones unmoved

            leaving the fools to suffer

who gains and who loses out of this superficial joy over others' discomfort ?
