| IF WE WRITE THE WAY WE WERE TAUGHT, THEN WHY DOES HANDWRITING VARY FROM PERSON TO PERSON? WHY HANDWRITING VARIES FROM PERSON TO PERSON Handwriting is often referred to as brain writing. Neuro-scientists have categorized neuro-muscular movement tendencies (handwriting strokes) and correlated them to specific personality traits. Each personality trait is represented by a neurological brain pattern. Each neurological brain pattern produces a unique neuro-muscular movement (handwriting stroke) that is basically the same for every person who has that personality trait. (Of course, one's own fine motor coordination also impacts handwriting strokes, creating variations but not altering overall stroke tendencies.) When writing, these tiny movements occur unconsciously and thus each stroke reveals a specific trait. THE ROLE OF THE GRAPHOLOGIST Handwriting analysts identify these strokes and describe the corresponding personality trait. However, these traits alone do not tell a complete story. Instead, it is by stacking and combining traits that we graphologists, or handwriting analysts, get a clearer picture of a person's whole personality in terms of emotional responsiveness, intellect, energy, fears and defenses, motivations, imagination, integrity, aptitudes, and trust.
