Colegio de San Agustin - Bacolod
Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod is a private, Catholic, co-educational institution of learning owned and administered by the Augustinian friars of the Province of Santo Nio de Cebu in the Philippines. It is located in Bacolod City, the capital city of Negros Occidental. The Spanish Augustinians were the first Christian religious order to enter the Philippines and begin its conversion to Catholicism.
HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL
Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod grew out of the former Casanova School founded by Doa Soledad Locsin. On August 9, 1961, final arrangements were made for the transfer of Casanova School to the Augustinian Order and on July 8, 1962 Casanova School became Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod and in recognition of a more broadened educational program envisioned by the Augustinian administrators, the school offered kindergarten, elementary and high school education.
In May 1963, the Administration building was constructed and later that year, it was inaugurated. With this new building along North Drive and 20th Street, and with added and improved facilities, CSA-B was set to serve the people of Negros Occidental. The school made a good impression on the people of Negros and the number of students increased

On July 19, 1964, the College Department opened with curricular offerings ranging from Liberal Arts, Education, Commerce, Secretarial and Technology courses like Chemical and Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry and Medical Technology, which were not available in other schools in Bacolod City during that time.
Since the opening of College Department in 1964, the population of the school doubled, and the administrators decided to build a four-storey building along 18th Street. Early in 1969, the construction of the building was started and was inaugurated around Christmas time of that year. This building, which is presently called the College Building was then the site of the Grade School and High School Department, and of other offices like the Audio-Visual Center and some offices of the deans of the different departments.

The 1970's saw CSA-B gaining prominence not only in the field of education but also in sports. The school reaffirmed its prominence with the opening of the College of Nursing in 1970 and the resounding results of the performance of its graduates in the different licensure examinations. CSA-B athletes were known for their outstanding performance in basketball, track and field, football and cycling.

The school remains steadfast in its dedication to the Catholic, Filipino and Augustinian formation of its youth and constant in its commitment to fulfill the mission of the Church, the development of moral and social values and the fostering a community life with "oneness of mind and heart intent upon God."
An Augustinian academic and evangelizing community providing quality Filipino and Christian Catholic education.
