My parent's might be, as Dad puts it in their "golden years" but they, primarily are still very youthful at heart. Even in their seventies, they haven't learnt what the words "slow down and rest," mean, they are always on the run. My dad in his late seventies still manages to work three days a week and mom well she manages to take care of the home. Even with all their obstacles in life that comes with those Golden Years, they are pretty spry. They have been married fifty-five years, that in it self is an accomplishment in life. My parents have always been there for their three children. When the times are rough, they are there to listen, and give their opinion and help of their experience and never ask for anything in return. Even though at times it maybe a hard pill to swallow, but as you sit back and look, they are usually right. But I am sure this is where I have gotten my caring and nurturing attitude from, and the reason I became a nurse, to care for others, as I was cared for. My mom has always been there through my multiple surgeries to help and try to ease the pain, and that I will always be grateful. So now it is my turn to show my parents what they mean to me, and give them some of the recognition they so rightly deserve.
