Wanganui
14th January... James, Alex and Kylie fly down to Wanganui to meet Steven. He had been there for the past week competing in his FINAL national skating champs, which he won!!!!!
We stayed in Wanganui for 2 nights, visited the Wanganui memorial tower. We had to walk along a tunnel to then catch a lift up to the top of the mountain, the tunnel was approx 150m long and had an awesome resonance with echo which we all enjoyed. Then climbed 176 steps to the top, we got an awesome view of Wanganui, the river and its bridges... it was pretty windy up there and James got a bit freaked out.
Wanganui has an awesome kids park, with nursey rhyme theme and an octopus and dinosaur themed play equipment... the kids had a great time as you can see below, James wanted to visit it every day.
Alex and James had a great time exploring the park and trying everything out.
James had great fun, trying to get onto the roundabout while Alex and Kylie enjoyed the view...

James had great fun on the flying fox too.
At the motel we stayed in, there was a pool which James pretty much swum in every day... he mastered the art of backwards floating with the aide of his life jacket, and was quite confidently swimming across the pool without holding onto the sides. Steve worked on his laptop and watched him, while Kylie and Alex had a snooze.
