This is Fujieda Kenjuu, my older brother.

(Kenjuu pulls Memori into a room. What is he planning?)

The pure and innocent me of that time believed in anything…anything at all.

(Apparently, Kenjuu has decided to play with Memori by locking him in the room, holding the doorknob on the outside so that when Memori holds the doorknob inside…)

Initially, I mistook him for a Yakuza, but he’s actually really cool.

Memori: Dad, there’s a ghost in the bath…can you come with me?

(Little Memori is really cute. Here, he’s together with Dollar, the Fujieda dog. They somewhat resemble each other.xD)

Shinobu: THERE’S NO SUCH THINGS AS GHOSTS! If you’re a man, be tough!

(Shinobu with a fang.)

(Memori in the bathtub, looking scared but reaaally cute. And an outline of something that looks like a….ghost is hovering by the window.)

Memori: Uu…uu..uu…(scared)

Memori: The ghosts seem to be outside after all...

Toshinobu: Kukuku…

Toshinobu: Get scared, get scared…

(The outline of the ghost is actually Shinobu, hovering about with…a feather duster? And scaring Memori.)

This is Fujieda Izuru, my kind and powerful mother.

Izuru: A healthy boy is the best~!

At the time when I became a child of the Fujiedas, she was extremely happy.

Lady: Ya~an! How cutee~*heart* I’ll give you some pocket money~!*heart*

Memori: (As he watches the lady walk away) If I say this around ten more times, I wonder if I can get enough money to buy shoes…

Memori: (presenting the new shoes that he bought to Kenjuu) Ken-nii! I have a present for you! Look, look!

Kenjuu (in Memori’s mind, holding the shoes and smiling): Oooh! How cool! I’ve wanted this!

Memori: (excited)

Kenjuu: (the real one, looking at the shoes with his eyes narrowed)…

Kenjuu: YOU IDIOT! There’s no way I’m using this worthless thing! (Kenjuu, hidoi~! He tosses the shoes away)

(In the first three frames we have Kenjuu, walking about the house wearing his shoes, and showing them off, basically—particularly, to Shinobu.)

Toshinobu: (Sitting, with his shoulders slumped…and crying?) Even though my shoes also stink…!

Kenjuu: A-re~? Pop, you didn’t get one~? Kekeke~

(Toshi talking to a depressed-looking Memori)

Toshinobu: Memori~! Daddy’s birthday is approaching soon~! But it’s not that I’m asking for a present or anything…

Passerby: Well, at least I didn’t drop it on your clo… (looks up at Kenjuu and finds him irate. Like really really angry.)

Kenjuu: YOU THINK I’M STUPID??? I’LL RAM THAT CIGARETTE BACK IN YOUR MOUTH!!!

Voices: WAAAHH! A FIGHT!

Passerby: Gyah~! I’m sorryyy!!!

(This is a a passel of dialogue, supposedly heard even inside the house, where Memori is, with Dollar the dog. As for Memori…)

Memori: Hic…hic…(He wasn’t looking out the window. Only Dollar was.)

Memori: (looking cute and depressed as he opens Kenjuu’s room’s door) Ken-nii…

Memori: If you don’t like the shoes I gave you, I’ll just throw them away, so give them back…

(But he sees Kenjuu, sitting on the bed, wearing the shoes and examining them in the mirrorxD)

Memori: …Eh?

Memori: Ah~! (Very, very happy Memori. There are flowers around him. So cute.~)

Memori: You’re wearing them~!

Kenjuu: (embarrassed) My principle is just to not let this thing go to waste, that’s all it is!

Kenjuu: (on the bed, about to sleep) Memori…can you take it off?

Izuru: He’s a Fujieda kid, all right.
