The Pee Wee Division (7 & 8 year olds) Hornets had a great 2002 season. They finished the regular season with a 6-1 record. Their only defeat coming at the hands of the eventual champions in a thrilling triple overtime game.
In the post season, the Hornets defeated the 6 and 1 Suns by a score of 12-1 to advance to the championship game. The championship game was a rematch against the undefeated Celtics, with whom the Hornets suffered their only defeat. This game proved to be just as exciting, as the Hornets were 0:45 seconds away from vindication, before the Celtics tied the score at the end of regulation. The Celtics would eventually win the game and championship by 3 points in overtime. |
