A note: Though this page is entitled "Words we are inordinately fond of...", you may notice that it includes phrases as well.  Do not be alarmed by this.  It merely reinforces the spirit of randomness we are here to promote.  Also, do not be offended by any of the innuendoes or connotations that some of these words may call to mind.  These words (and phrases) were judged random enough to be on the site based purely on humor value.  While some may protest that "baby grenades" are far from humourous, I beg to differ.  The mere contrast of the two words has, when joined, the effect of sitting in your living room talking to your water heater.  (Think about it for a while..you'll get it..)

Sincerely,
the mistress of sin and darkness
P.S.  If you would care to add a word to the list, tell us about it in the guestbook.  That's right.  SIGN THE GUESTBOOK, PEOPLE.
I am going to use the remainder of this page to shamelessly plug a few of my favorite books.  The winner of the RAR Award for Best Example of Randomness goes to...The Ultimate Hitchhikers Guide, by Douglas Adams.  This is a collection of gutbustingly hilarious stories of the ill-fated Brit, Arthur Philip Dent, and his struggles to deal with his existence as a case study for cosmic irony.  I cannot begin to relate how funny this book is!  Also, anything by Anne Rice (except Vittorio the Vampire, that one was completely subpar.)  The Vampire Chronicles are just decadent in every way and The Tales of the Mayfair Witches are bitingly witty.  Pieces of Intelligence, compiled by Hart Seeley is a collection of poems carved out of Defense Department briefings given by my hero, Rummy.  Also, anything by Ayn Rand, but especially her masterpiece, Atlas Shrugged.  It's really a showcase for her philosophy, but even if you don't agree with Objectivism, the fact indisputably remains that this is a superlative novel.  I also recommend that you visit her website if you are already familiar with her works. www.aynrand.org
