| A complete history of the "Random Acts of Randomness" (RAR) theory |
| It all started in French III. It was just Tim and I, for an entire 45 minutes. The chemistry of this mix is questionable, but it proved to be the perfect conditions to create your own religion/philosophy/inside joke. There was a fundraiser. The journalism club was selling these little creatures made of a tiny green pom ball, about an inch high. It had googly eyes, and little plastic feet and tiny antennae poking up from his head. Tim and I developed a peculiar attatchment to this creature. Tim was particularly fond of it, and used it as a medium through which to project his most evil thoughts. One day, after Tim had been channeling through the creature, we decided to name it. "MANI!!", I cried. "Short for the 'manifestation of your alter ego!' " This suggestion was met with thoroughly warm approval. That was where things began to get slightly disturbing...(We will not EVEN delve into the subject of the Mexican hat dance..) After a while, MANI became a demigod for Tim and Natale. We used to sit in class and dream of the bloody libations we could pour upon his non-existent altar. It so happened that Mrs. Stoneking had a Freshman exploratory class. These little minions of Satan just talked and talked unendlessly. We fitfully dubbed them the "Chattams". These miscreants, on one occasion, disturbed a map of Paris (superbly done) by Tim and Natale (mostly Natale..). After the atrocious event, we decided that they had to be offered up to MANI as a placation for their annoying stupidity. After Madame would not permit us to complete our divine mission, MANI wreaked havoc in other locales. After about a month with MANI, we received Revelation that he was the Omniscient Oracle of Delphi. Immediately following our blessed discovery, we received a second Revelation about the antithesis of MANI. These two polar oppsites of the universe were the perfect complements: MANI, the god of reason and order....and INAM, the goddess of chaos and anarchee. This horrid creature was invisible to the naked eye, only once in a while would she appear in an illuminated orb of pink light...INAM!!!. After Tim left the Prison, and went to Georgetown Prep (YAY!), Natale joined him on a journey to Alexandria inspired by the Divine Randomness of MANI. We exalted in His Random Grace...even though INAM tried to get us lost. The journey of Randomness and the Random Acts of the aforesaid continue onward into this year when Natale (hopefully) will visit Tim at Prep(YAY!) and carry out the Will of Mani. |
