I have gone back to create this prolouge as I go through the creation of this, whatever it is. I have intentionaly tried not to include contemporary works of art or creation which could be lost on any particular person or misunderstood by someone to whom such references are not available and try to give every thought and question the common sense test. After all, the sum of something is worth more than its parts, but each peice must fufill its own personal requirements. I have also tried to include quotes that I have found to be true for various reasons. Partialy to validate the ones who first arrived at such conclusions and paved way as well as more easily explain any given thought. As a rule of thumb I have tried not to give personal annotations of my views if for no other reason than it would contradict the entire meaning of the article? I suppose I should call it that. Change is envitable. There is a reason for everything. There is a limit for everything. There is a first time for everything. There is an exception to every rule. Rules are created for a reason. Self awareness. People vs Computers. Conscious vs Subconscious. Memory. Learning and association. The actions, reactions and limits through the growth of an individual and how they act, react and interact with various ages in various environments. Destinct personalities. Multiple persoanlities. Interaction between various personailities. Interactions between various personalities at various ages. Transitions between personalities. Natural survival instincts and other basic actions and reactions. Interpertation of emotion. Disease/mutation vs change/adapation and natural selection. Before you read the mind numbing thoughts contained within, let it be said, ignorance is bliss. ************************NOT POSTED_ ABOVE****************************************** What is the meaning of life, what is the purpose of our being? As I have wrote this I have foreseen only one envitable conclusion, our own destruction as well as that of everything around us. I have contemplated this many times, but have yet to find an answer. What is the meaning of life, what is our reason for being. However, I do belive and know all of this to lie outside of our own comprehension. I once found it prudent to study the various holy books from various cultures, now I see all rivers lead to the ocean. You cannot follow any religion or science without a leap of faith. If you belive a god or gods created us, you must belive that 'god' has always exsisted. Else you begin to question where he came from... etc in an endless cycle and while it is true that a circle is the strongest form known to man, it is based in a three dimensional world and has always held true. We are like a fish in a pond though, our earth is the fish's pond. His trees are our planets, we can only see as far beyond our world as we are let to see. Just as we can carry a fish from one pond to the next, so are we allowed to move from one planet to the next within our own playpen in the universe. Again, you must take the leap of faith no matter which perverbal river you travel. In science if you belive rocks collided and their natural properties drew them together in a series of chain reactions as a result of a big bang, you still must question where that inital matter, that inital energy and where it came from. In any religion you must question where god came from. Or perhaps science and laws of physics are gods own creations to limit his design and create a natural boundary. After all, what do you know of that does not have a limit, a boundary, a shell? So there is a point beyond our comprehension and explanation and so I concentrate on the less parts which are not based in a fuzzy logic. I intend to explore various interactions, the limitations of mind based on design and their own mind and more. Now to understand the interactions, you have to understand the self. While the most important part of a thing is its control mechanism perhaps, the mind in this case, you must first understand its physical parts and their origin and reason for being. The origin in this case is something which cannot be truly determined, weather it be devine intervention or natural selction. While we have seen where in nature something can evolve from its natural design over the course of its life. A tad pole becoming a frog, a person growing knee caps. However I cannot recall an instance where something has evolved on a genetic level where it naturaly tends to reoccur through the speicies as a permineant change to form a new speicies or adapation of its former self rather. The only problem with this philosphy is while the natural lifespan of a human does tend to exceed the lifespan of various other organisms multiple times and span generations (like the half-life span of a butterfly), we have yet lived long enough to record long term effects of outside interference on other speicies. As it is common knowledge and sense that the same actions will forever lead to the same results in the same circumstances, clearly you need an outside influence to create a new result. That is to say, a catapiller will always become a butterfly unless interfered with on the genetic level by an outside source natural or otherwise. Now we can see the possability of genes being mutated on the genetic level not only through inbreeding, but also through the effects of radiation causing mutations. However, it is still within our own design as well as all other living things not to create an offbreed with the natural adapation to the current environment, but rather the continued stability and integrity of the breed. What am I saying? If you put a family of penguins in florida, they will not give birth to a penguin which will not grow feathers to adapat to the warmth. A body, if given the proper resources can give an atypical response to various stimulous within reason based on its design. It gets hotter, a person sweats.. a dog pants. Each animal has its own response based on the speicies. So stupid is as stupid does, there is no way for the body on its own accord seperate of the mind to be able to predict and understand/foresee future circumstances so all things were designed to mantain their integrity. Unless otherwise interferied by an outside source. Now geneticly we can see their is a limited number of possible occurances based on the ancestory. Aka if no one in your family line has ever had blonde hair, I seriously doubt you will naturaly be the first. However if it is present in the line based on domanient and recessive acts, through the generations it can occur or reoccur. So if your parents have blue and brown eyes, yes yours could potentionaly be green. No they could not be silver since no one in your line has ever had silver eyes. Unless you interfer with the natural process and add to the gene pool. Not that there would be any reason to. So what does all this mean? Ok we all have a dozen possible hair colors, a dozen eye colors... etc. Our bodys are all truly unique within a limit. What it comes down to though if you took every possible difference between people. Height, size, weight, eye color, hair color, ear type, nose type, lip type. After so many changes you WILL be forced to have a reoccurance. That is to say, one day even something as unique as fingerprints, DNA and your retina will be duplicated as it is essesential stasticly impossible over a period of time with enough occurances for this not to happen. So our bodys are all the same and we physicaly adapt to our environment within our internal limits. If we get hot, we sweat, if we run out of water we aquire more. It is a natural continus cycle with all people and their interaction with its environment. So what makes us different is our mind, this is where it begins to become confusing, but again has limited responses to various stimulie. ******************************POST 1 ABOVE******************************************************** But we won't go into that quite yet, we are going to look at the lesser parts first. Take the heart for instance. Its made of a muscle which doesn't get tired, unlike our arms/legs. Why isn't all of our muscle with this design? Why not just remove the sensors/nerves within us to ignore such things? Why do we interpet pain instead of just getting a singal which says this is % tolerence and will have X effect with a question of weather or not to continue? We have all had our computers crash, and learned the value of a backup. Clearly we can survive with only one lung or kidney, why do we have two lungs but only one heart? Why not have a second one dorminent or beating to the same pulse as the first? Why do we have a second lung when only one will work even for running? Why do they move syned together instead of a stagged rotation bringing a constant and stead supply instead of a feast or famon airline to the blood stream? Why do we walk upright instead of on fours with another set of hands? Why do we not use our feet like and as well as monkeys? Why do we not have two arms, two legs and two wings? I find it ironic the simplest of the questions are the ones I lack the answers to. While I cannot say which is better, to have lungs beat in unison or rotation I find advantages and disadavatages to both. Such as more quickly making adjustments or being able stop breath with one lung if you realize the other has become threatened with a particular breath. However this would also require more extensive knowledge and resources to control, just like two core cpu processors instead of one big one. Inherently the more complex something is the more easily it tends to break in nature, however there is one perfect design to maintain systems of anything, even a person. The only question is are those systems adequate for the environment and task at hand. Tireless muscle would sure require more energy would it not, that would mean more intake and limit the distance at which we could naturaly travel and the enviroments in which we could live or how many of us could cohabitate and interact within our own ecosystem. Again, we are animals and designed to work without tools as equals within our enviroments. Which I belive is why we are inherently given a lesser design to comphensate for our greater intelligence and ability to reason. So we would not overwhelm and rule our habitate before we learned to respect the live(s) around us and not to destory it simply because we have the power. As I will later discuss, those who have power not only seek to use it but seek more of it, so something must prevent us from destorying ourselves. I still cannot explain our exact interpertation of 'emotion' as opposed to simple reasoning. I am sure the answer lies somewhere between the software and hardware conflict between our interpertation and the resources which power us, because I do belive in short we are nothing more than a simple computer, only with more or less durable parts. So basicly the short story is I belive our creator, weather it be god / a civilization / nature, designed us to be most adaptable to the enviroment at current and anticipated on this planet. If you were going to design man, would you not want them to be able to react to envitable change (all change is envitable within limits) untill they were capable of rationalizing and responding to various threats of survival till the completion of a mission or just survival period? ******************************POST 2 ABOVE******************************************************** So envariably our creators designed us to be with limitations. Was this because beauty is in the eye of the beholder? Because he/she/it/they were afraid of being overthrown by a more perfect being? Because we are imperfect beings created be any imperfect being? Again, this lies outside of our knowledge and comprehension for the time being. If we were to design man based on todays resources, knowledge and needs, who is to say we would not have a war between the genetical enhanced and the creators? If we were to improve everyone who is to say that we are truly capable of predicting our own needs as a society and a speicies anymore than a child is at deciding where they should live or how? I belive one such evaluation of true intelligence is our ability to rationalize and predict the future, to understand casality. To truly apreciate cause > effect > cause and the conseqeunces of our actions. Would it be safe to redesign all humans? What ripple would be sent throughout our society to even propose such a change, muchless actully affect our entire population or a select peice of it. The only way to succeed at anything is to devise a proper response against the failure of the contingency plan. So we were designed, with limitations and fail safes. We were designed with fail safes and backups. Take eating for example, we might consump an apple, and clearly there are things which are not used and we have a simple means for disposing of such waste, but what happens when undesired resources go to other places than desired? It is said in science that energy cannot be created or destoryed, well it says matter as well, but I consider matter to be a bracnch of energy just as medicine and math to be a branch of science. So like our bodies, the lesser parts which power our peices must be purified to remove anomalies and such we have antibodies and the like to maintain the integrity of our systems. So now it comes to the lowest common denominator of atoms. Our systems are designed to maintain the whole each with its own unique function (you dont see our lungs trying to inhale a particular amount at a particular pace so it can also control the blood apropriatly do you?). So each part is designed to work in tangent with its counterparts to maintain the whole, just as is the purifaction process to main proper intake into those parts. So essential the peices guard from outside intruders and other peices create an interior guard for that which cannot be foreseen. Ex: You get the chicken pox, you develop an antibody kill the virus and become immune because your body as a simple process to respond to all threats. Now the question is why can the body react to strains of chicken pox, but not the common cold or cancer? It is because we are no different than computers, each part has a natural response unless contradicted by the brain or another outside influence (such as an innoculation..etc). And we have not been programmed to do anymore more or anything less, this is why we have various reactions to emotions and nerve responses. Aka, if you touch fire and get burned, you dont leave your hand in the flame you take it out and remember not to do it again. So how much are we like computers? Where in lies the differences? ******************************POST 3 ABOVE******************************************************** You have all seen the little math formulas for things like how girls are evil right. Well I have an undenyable logic I think which basicly proves life is nothing more than a giant sim game, choice doesnt truly exsist, only our perception of it. In life we all base our choices on memory. Memory is experience + association. If you experience pain when you touch a hot pot, you won't touch a hot pot again. How do you know its hot? You associate steam or a picture of fire with heat correct? Just like a skull and crossbones with poison. Life has taught has to make certain associations and to remember them the more severe they are as a general rule of thumb. Scars remind us that the past is real. So every action is based on previous actions, we 'learn' from our mistakes right? Wrong, we do not learn, we merely create patterns and/or rules. Which explains why we have created things like trust, it is all a series of rules basicly. It is a cost - benefit analyasis. It is based on benefits possible, losses possible, and liklyhood (of both gain and loss). If you told me if I drive down town I could get a free $600 computer, you would go. but what if a friend was in your house? You then weigh what is in the house to be lost right? Ok well the TV is $1000 so you dont go right? Wrong, liklyhood is then considered (reguardless of weather the outcome is favorable). If it is a 30% chance of getting the computer and a .00000001% chance of having the previously considered item(s) lost, you may decide to go. There has to be a favorable outcome of the solution to said equation. So we create rules based on every experience to reaction to the next. So what if you lose your memory, well your previous experience lead you to take those actions which caused it and put you in a particular situation where you would react a particular way. Your physical bearing take priority when you lack experience. Just the same way you might use the names of roads if you failed to know how many straights or turns to take. As any muscle is used, it grows. Just like a highway grows slowly as it gets more traffic. So the singal to the brain will be stronger and therefore you will reaction faster or in different ways based on your condition which has been formed through previously, albeit forgotton, experiences. This raises certain questions. Why would you react in a particular way if you had nothing to base this new 'first' action on, the answer is simple, priorities. Whenever you get a hunch, it is merely your subconscious acting on information not passed to your consciousness. Example: Your a soldier about a raid a house, your 'gut' says take the window instead of the door as trained, why? Easy. Just like if you hear a smoke detector with a low battery beeping, you eventually tune it out, your subconscious made the choice that it is not a threat nor does it interfer with your goal. Your subconscious takes in all the information from you senses, prioratizes them and then makes that 'trust' evaluation, that cost-benefit analyasis. Which is why if you could create the exact same chemical balance in a persons both mind and body and wipe their memory, put them in a room, a perfect circle, with either 2 doors or 100.. doesnt matter, they will always choose the same door. Maybe you are self aware that you favor your right hand and your exact positioning gave you a cross reference between favoring due right and your exact line of sight to create a sort of compermise on which door. Maybe your amadetrious (both / two handed) and you awaken looking straight ahead, why would you choose a door to your left or right or behind? Perhaps you choose to survey your surroundings and you only look at each item once and you do NOT return to your natural position and rather stop at the last point you surveyed. Maybe you will always go left first because there is more weight on that side of the body and you naturaly need to favor that. Reguardless of the situation there are always two things which are true. In nature there is always a domintant and recessive trait and in the person there is always a priority. Without life there is death, without light there is dark, without heat there is cold. That is the domintant / recessive in the environment. The priority being.. check memory none, check physical references none, check other senses none... no difference cannot evaluate, use self. Maybe there is iron in your nose which always makes you point north so even if faced north one occasion and south another you always have the urge to face north before selecting the door in front of you? So going back to the first point, every action is based on experiences from before and we always create patterns because we have based everything on a set of rules, which means we might not have taken an action yet, but we can predict it IF we have all the variables. Which is why probability does not really exsist. You say flip a quarter there is definitly a 50% chance of it landing on heads or tails, even if you throw it 100 times and 65 of which is tails. Consider this though, you wernt even aware of some of the rules you used when you created that idea. Did you assume it could not land on the small side? Did you consider maybe you were in space and there was no gravity to cause it to fall..etc. Of course not, your analyasis said it was a 'stastical impossability', it wasnt very probable so you didnt weigh it in equaly. ******************************POST 4 ABOVE********************************************************
