Why? Because I started in June 2002 as a dishwasher and today just 6 months exactly after the day I started here I was offered and accepted the position of Administrative Assistant. Push yourself to your limits wherever your nook is in society. You will get your foot in the door however small your foot is.
My job is based in the front office of Num-Ti-Jah Lodge. I am assistant to Innkeeper, Lee O'Donnell. I take care of his professional scheduling, planning, composing letters, answering phone messages directed to him, take notes from his meetings, conferences and his voice recorder when a thought enters his mind while drive a stretch in the mountains. He is great leader and will guide me in the right direction in my professional life. I also have a duty to inform Lee of happenings while the lodge is hosting a large event like a wedding, corporate retreat or the public relations release of the Pontiac Vibe. I also will give room sales agent a hand when things get hectic for them. For instance, I might spend 15 minutes on the phone selling the above room, Room 24, one queen size bed, private washroom Lake and Glacier view to a potential customer from half way around the world.
I also try to brighten peoples days. I was voted Male Comedian of the Year on staff last year and therefore I can't be ALL stiff and serious!
