There are 25 guest rooms, a fine dining room, gift shop, library, gallery, pool room and front office.  Three rooms on the second floor of the right side in this pic.

Quick & Quirky Facts
-The lodge building process began in 1930 and was completed in 1950
-Jimmy Simspon was kicked out of England for telling a dirty joke in church, he was given the     option---Canada or Australia.
-The Simpson sister's were featured on the cover of a 1939 issue of "Billboard Magazine" for       their figure skating talents.  They never entered in amateur competition for Olympics or             Worlds but toured in North America and practiced all year round on Bow Glacier.  The                magazine hangs in our library.
-Simpson's played many sports and Jimmy coached the Banff hockey team to league champs      in the mid 1900's, Simpson also tried curling, yes on Bow Lake!
-Nasheen Asheen was Simpson's nickname from the Stoney Indians which means "Wolverine     go quick."   He was given this name because of his lightning speed on snowshoes in the            Rockies.
-Jimmy named the lodge Num-Ti-Jah, which is Stoney for Pine Marten, a fierce squirel like           rodent found in the area.  The animal can lunge from the ground and attack an animal or            human and focus on their neck area.  Jimmy grew found of the animals while snowshoeing        from Lake Louise to Jasper.
-Our library holds the world's oldest and most historical "antler chairs".  Built by Canadian            Pioneer Mary Schaffer, one of the chairs is moose antlers, the other deer antlers.
-The lodge is not actually protected by the federal government but the Ram Pasture, staff            accomodation is protected by Shelia Copps and the Heritage Ministry of Canada.
-Over 5000 people will pass through Jimmy Simpson Trading Post with over 10 different              languages spoken by tourists daily.
-I live inside of one of the 25 areas designated areas by the United Nations as a world                 protected site.
-All of our garbage and recycling is critter proof with hinged garbage cans and dumpsters.
-The premiere for the Pontiac Vibe was filmed here at Bow Lake
-So was a Toyota, Volkswagon and Nike commercial.
-Every year the lodge or the lake is featured in at least two calendars that feature Canadian         Scenery, we were Mr. July last year in one of the most widely distributed Canadian calendars    purchased by foreigners.
-Parks Canada told Jimmy he had to paint the lodge roof a natural colour.  He went to town        and bought fire engine red paint.
-Bow Glacier was one of the fastest retreating glaciers in the world until ten years ago when       the rate its retraction slowed down.
-Crowfoot Glacier is the most photographed glacier on the Icefield parkway and one of the          most photographed in the world.
-The first blind person to conquer Mount Everest stayed at Num-Ti-Jah Lodge and Erik               Weihenmayer trained on many of our surrounding mountains before he summitted the highest   mountain in the world two years ago.
-Bow Lake is below freezing for much of the Summer but because of the minerals in the water     from the glaciers it doesn't freeze until the air is cold enough in the winter.
-The nearest Tim Hortons- 1.5 hours away!
-Nearest Wal-Mart- over 2 hours away.
-Banff used to have an airport for small planes for wealthy tourists to be taken right from             Calgary to downtown Banff via air.
-We have over 15 full time staff members for Winter, in the Summer that number will double.
-We use leading edge technology to process payments and internet use via satelite, our             phones are satelite as well but have delays, like watching CNN from overseas.
-The Icefield's Parkway was completed in the early 1930's. 
-When arriving at the lodge people may complain of dry sinuses, dizziness and dehydration,       we are the highest resort in North America at 6500 feet, we're over 1500 higher than the            nearest town, Lake Louise.
-Snowplows and sanders operate from 9am - 5pm in the National Park (honestly!)
-There is a stop light billboard at the beginning of our highway.  Green (Good), Yellow (Fair),       Red (Poor), Flashing Red (Closed).  This light is controlled by Parks Canada and the park        gates come down and are locked with a padlock to ensure no one gets in....or out, of the            area.
-There is Lake Trout, Bull Trout and smaller fish in Bow Lake, the season, because of the          National Park Regulations, is very short but large lunkers have been pulled out of the lake         and can be eaten!
-Jimmy Simpson's real name was Justin James McCartney
-There is absolutely no cell phone or radio station reception on property
-The nearest stop light - over an hour away.
