Otep

Otep is a Nu-metal rapcore band from Los Angelos, California. The band is named after Otep Shamaya(lead vocals) and is a four peice band.

Otep is best know as being one of the few women vocalists to sing metal. There is little known about Otep Shamaya including her age, date of birth, and life background which are all kept secret to the public.

She says that her age during an interveiw is five lifetimes old even though no one actually believed it.

Otep has two albums out(Sevas Tra and House of Secrets which featured Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison)and has finished a new one titled "The Acension." It was said that the album would be released in July 2007, but no more was said and it is not yet know when it will be released.

 

Stone Sour is an alternative metal band from Des Moines, Iowa that formed in 1994. The band started with Slipknot vocalist Corey Taylor and drummer Joel Ekman.

The Band broke up on and on and started to really get down to business in 2003. Slipknot guitarist James Root entered the band during the recording of their first album which featured the hit single "bother" that was written and performed by Corey Taylor.

During the recording of the second album Come What(Ever) May, Ekman left the band due to his son fallin ill with a malignant brain tumor and dying on May 2006.

It was stated that Joel was permanantly gone and Soulfly drummer Roy Mayorga stepped in and became the bands new drummer. Come What(Ever) May was Stone Sour's very best which featured the very popular song "Through Glass."

12stones

12 Stones is an alternative metal band from Mandeville, Louisiana. The band started in 2000 and consisted of lead singer Paul McCoy, guitarist Eric Weaver, bassist Kevin Dorr, and drummer Aaron Gainer.

They are widely known around the world and praised for their outstanding talent in Christian music. The band members are under 21 years old and have won many awards throughout their past two albums. 12 Stones has two albums which are "12 Stones" and "Potters Field."

Even though Kevin Dorr was the bassist during the first album, he switched to guitars on Potters Field. Shortly after Dorr left the band due to personal details and was replaced by Justin Rhymer.

The band has a new upcoming album called "Anthem for the Underdog" which features new second guitarist Justin Rhymer and new bassist DJ Stange. The album will be released in stores on August 14, 2007.

 

Breaking Benjamin is an alternative metal band from wilkes-barre, Pennsylvania. They formed in 1998 and are a four piece band.

The band is named after lead singer and guitarist Benjamin Burnley after his solo experience.

They are signed to Hollywood Records and have three studio albums in stores entitled "Saturate", "We are not Alone", and the latest "Phobia" which features the hit single "The Diary of Jane."

They are also best known for performing a song entitled "blow me away" for the upcoming Xbox game Halo 3.
