Another of my favorite past times is to watch football. My favorite college football team is the Alabama Crimson Tide. They have a great tradition of winning championships and having great players. Coaches like Paul"Bear"Bryant,and Coach Gene Stallings. Some of the alltime great players include people like,Lee Roy Jordan,Scott Hunter, Joe Namath,Kenny Stabler,Paul Crane,John Croyle, Jay Barker, Shaun Alexander, David Palmer, Derrick Thomas, Cornelius Bennett, George Teague, Eric Curry, John Copeland,Van Tiffin,Phillip Doyle,Michael Proctor,and many others. Also along with the great coaches and players, the University they have a tradition of winning National Championships,(12) and SEC Conference Championships(22?).
(Note:The NCAA football website lists the teams awarded national championships since the 1870's, I think. And according to that list Alabama has 17 national championships in football. So here is the list of 17 according to the NCAA website. The NCAA does not award a national championship in Division 1-A football but recognizes the champions named by other organizations that conduct the polls.)
