Another Group I really like to listen to is a group out of Bryson City, North Carolina, a city in the Great Smoky Mountains in western North Carolina. Martin Cook, a highschool math teacher at a local school started that group with four of his students in 1964. Martin played the piano for them. I believe the four students were, Archie Watkins singing tenor, Ronny Hutchins singing lead, Jack Laws singing baritone, and Troy Burns singing bass. The Inspirations are still going strong after forty years. They have had some changes in some positions over the years, but the tradition of great gospel music, with a strong message still goes on today. The current group consists of Martin Cook on piano, his son Myron on the upright bass, Archie Watkins sings tenor, Mike Holcomb sings bass, Matt Dibler sings lead, and Melton Campbell sings baritone.
