It's All History

Minako and Makoto sighed in unison as they looked out the window of the palace. Neither had to speak to let passer-bye's know that they were both bored out of their royal minds. The princess of Venus put her chin in her hand as she looked out over the landscape, in her mind she was composing lyrics to a song, she frowned as her subconscious told her once more that songs without music meant nothing. Makoto looked at her long time friend and put a hand on her shoulder, startling her.
"You look intense, what is it?"
Minako glanced up at the taller girl and gave a wan smile. "Oh it's nothing, I'm just thinking."
Makoto rolled her eyes good naturedly and was about to speak when a young boy came up behind them and tapped them on the shoulders. Makoto spun to look at the child and he nervously passed her a note, sneaking glances at the princess of love and beauty. Minako noticed this and felt a wave of sadness pass through her. It's always the outside that makes them notice me, she thought, people never see past my face..save for my friends.
Makoto took the note and ushered the boy off on his way, he glanced back with a sigh at the two then kept going. The brown haired girl opened the note and grabbed her friend's hand and began to run down the hallway, dragging her alongside. Minako was snapped out of her reverie and gave a small cry as she was drug. She began to run on her own will and looked over at Makoto.
"What's wrong, is Usagi in danger?" she said protectively.
"No, the emissaries of earth are here!" Makoto said in excitement, "Male emissaries, c'mon lets go!"
Minako stopped where she was and placed her hands on her hips. "Is that all? Emissaries?! Forget it, I'm going back to my room. Have fun with the earth men."
Makoto watched her friend leave as she ran backwards in her haste. "Alright, it's your loss." she called and then turned around to run as fast as her feet could carry her, she kicked off her high heels and caught them in the air and continued to run through the hallways. She knew that Mamoru was fairly cute (not much for an attitude though) so if all earth men were like him, she wanted to be down there right away.
Rei turned to Usagi and Ami as she smoothed out her dress once more. "Does this look okay? When are those two going to get here? When are the emissaries getting here? Are you guys nervous too? Do you think they'll like me?" she went through these questions quickly and the two giggled at her, "What's so funny?!" The pyro princess demanded, ready to throw a fireball at them.
"You're nervous, you're never nervous Rei-chan." Usagi giggled, "Just calm down, everything will be okay."
"She's right you know." Ami added, "The emissaries are--"
"COMING THROUGH!"
The three jumped back instinctively as Makoto rushed through, she ran past then backed up a bit still huffing and puffing, her cheeks red with excitement. The three smiled at her, they knew that the Jupiter princess liked men a lot and was just in anticipation of meeting the emissaries.
"Did I miss anything? Are they here yet?"
Usagi shook her head, her long blonde hair waving behind her. Makoto's face fell and she pouted slightly, then brightened up, her face lighting with a radiant smile for her best friends. Ami looked around and saw the queen entering the room, she stepped forwards and bowed as Makoto sheepishly put her heels back on. Serenity merely smiled at this, she knew all the princess' natures too well. She looked from Ami's youthful face to her own daughters, then Makoto's flushed visage to Rei's excited one. She frowned and looked behind the small group.
"Where is Minako?"
"I'm very sorry." Makoto began, "Minako doesn't want to meet with the emissaries." She twisted a strand of hair between her fingers then became conscious of it and stopped.
Ami, Usagi and Rei exchanged looks, this wouldn't be good.
"I beg your pardon?" Serenity frowned even more, "Where is she?"
Makoto gulped, knowing that this was directed at her. She could feel the queen's anger and took a step back, the wrath of the queen was very uncommon but dangerous when provoked. She tried to think of where her loyalties lied. She could always tell a small lie and give Minako some time before the queen came after her, or she could just spit it out and save them both some time. It was often times better to take your punishment quickly than to put it off. She mentally bowed her head, asking Minako to forgive her if queen Serenity went too hard on her.
"I believe she said that she would be in her room." Makoto admitted.
Serenity turned to introduce them to the emissaries when she spoke up once more, the queen turned, a bit surprised by this.
"Your highness, Minako isn't feeling very well. She's been...different...."
"Different?" Serenity turned, now concerned for the young Venusian. "How so?"
"Well I cannot explain it." Makoto said truthfully, "She hasn't been her usual cheerful self. I think something may be wrong..."
Serenity nodded, accepting this fully, knowing that Makoto would never lie to her, even to protect her friend. "Thank you for bringing this to my attention, but regardless I would like you to meet the emissaries. Gentlemen, if you would step forward?" first there was a young man in white, his hair pulled back in a sharp ponytail, "This is Chang Wufei. Wufei, you're guide shall be Makoto of Jupiter. This is Yuy Heero, you're guide will be Ami of Mercury." Ami bowed slightly and smiled at him gently, "Duo Maxwell your guide is...oh dear where is--"
"Sorry I am late Serenity-sama."
Serenity turned and smiled to the youngest girl in the court. "Ah, Hotaru. You will guide around Duo, is this understood?" she gave a look that was not to be questioned.
"Of course Serenity-sama." Hotaru bowed to the gentle queen and made her way over to Duo with a small smile.
"And Rei I suppose you shall have to show around both Barton Trowa and Winner Quatre." the girl of fire stepped forwards and grinned.
"No problem."
"Then if there are no concerns I shall leave you to your guests and tend to Minako."
Quatre stepped forwards and cleared his throat nervously. "Serenity-sama, if it would please you, I could check on Minako-san for you?"
Serenity raised an eyebrow then nodded to the young boy. "Very well, Minako's chambers are down this hall, when you come to a cross-section take a left, her door is the third on the right."
Quatre bowed to her and began to make his way down the hallway when he heard the voice of Makoto, he could feel the sadness in her as she spoke but kept walking.
"Oh man, that's just what she needs right now, another male."
He left before he could hear any more, a little bit insulted but also fearful of what this could mean.
"And what is wrong with males?" Wufei scowled at her.
"Nothing." she shrugged, "But Minako has been having a hard time with them. She's the goddess of love and beauty so nearly all males are attracted to her, some girl's too. It makes her depressed that people forget to look within her for her true beauty."

Quatre came to the cross-section and turned to the left as he was told, his footsteps were light and he moved with a grace that, save for the most skilled warriors, most lacked. In his nervousness he began to run his fingers through his short blonde hair, he came to the door to Minako's chambers and lifted his hand to knock. He stopped with his hand half way through the motion. He could hear someone singing softly, no words, just pure emotion that flowed through that persons being to another's. He rested his hand against the door and closed his eyes to listen, a smile on his face. He turned and leaned against the door, breathing deeply as the girl sang, her voice raising and lowering. The depths of her pain he couldn't explain, her voice had started somewhat happily but now he wanted to go in and cry with her. He opened his eyes, how did he know that she was crying? He closed his eyes, he didn't know how, he just knew that she was. It wasn't just a song, it was something more. The song ended with a hopeful note and he smiled at this and sighed. It was beautiful to listen to even if it was sad.
"Whoa!" he cried as the door was opened and he fell backwards.
"You're one of the emissaries aren't you?" Minako sighed as she looked at the boy at her feet.
Quatre rubbed his head as he sat up. "Yes, are you Minako-san?"
"No."
"Oh, I'm very sorry to have bothered you." Quatre blushed as he stood up and brushed his pants off, he turned to look at her and was momentarily stunned.
Minako blinked as Quatre took her hand in his and kissed the back of it in a gentle fashion. She smiled wistfully and pulled her hand back as he bowed to her. He had a shock of platinum blonde hair that made her slightly jealous and eyes that were strangely observant to that which couldn't be seen. Hope rose up in her heart as she placed a hand over her chest.
"It's Mina-chan." she gave him a slight nod, "Everyone calls me Mina-chan, so please feel free to do so."
"Oh, okay." Quatre grinned at her and took in her beauty.
It seemed that her hair was almost impossibly long and the color of melted gold, her eyes were a very pale blue and held sadness that he wanted to brush away from her as quickly as he could. Sadness didn't seem to fit her, he could imagine her smiling for him and blushed slightly. When he kissed her hand he could feel her surprise and some of that sadness, which he heard in the song and seen in her eyes, lift from her.
"I am Winner Quatre." he introduced himself, "Emissary of Arabia. I would be truly honored if you would show me this beautiful planet Mina-chan."
Minako could feel his honesty and took his hand in her own. "Then come, I'll show you the music hall first. The others sing in there a lot, and the princesses of Neptune and Uranus play concerts sometimes for Serenity-sama. Michiru of Neptune plays the violin and Haruka of Uranus plays the piano. They harmonize very well together, many people love to listen to them and some vye for their attention." at this she giggled.
"Is something funny?" Quatre asked.
"Michiru-san and Haruka-san are lovers, that's all. Nothing could ever separate them and they are oblivious to the attention that the men give to them, that is all."
Quatre smiled. "It must be a nice feeling. To be in love I mean. Do you think you could explain the emotion to me?" he asked her hopefully.
Minako looked at the floor as they walked, he could tell that her sadness had returned and regretted ever asking the question. "I've never been in love."
"How truly awful." Quatre sympathized, "To be the goddess of love and yet not have love yourself."
Minako looked up at him and did her best to fake a smile. "Oh it's not a big deal, I survive."
Quatre looked at her in abject horror which made her stop for a moment. "No big deal? How can you say that? I thought that love was suppose to be the most incredible feeling that someone could ever feel. A force so powerful that--"
She silenced him with a look, tears brimming in her eyes. "I know that it is, Quatre-kun." he stopped and looked down, "But sometimes if I try to make it sound like it's not so great, it helps make it easier to survive my life alone."
"Forgive me Mina-chan." he kept his head bowed, "I am ignorant to the pain you must feel."
Minako took his hand once more and he looked up as she pulled him alone after her. "You spoke in haste, that is all. Come, the music hall isn't far off."
He looked at her and saw her smiling. Smiling for him, albeit a little sadly. He squeezed her hand in his and walked at her side silently. From time to time he looked at her, she was regal and poised, raised very well by Serenity in the ways of royalty and manners. Her pale yellow dress flowed behind her like a ray of sunshine and hung off her body nicely, showing her curves only when she moved in the right ways. He saw a few strands of hair out of place and impulsively tucked the hair behind her ear, she glanced over at him and he blushed while looking away.
"Gomen, you had a little hair out of place."
Minako smiled slightly and gently ran her own fingers through his hair. He looked at her with bright sea green eyes and she blushed a little. Emotion ran between the goddess and the empathic emissary, it was so thick that if someone were to walk by they would have been able to feel it even with no heightened mental capabilities. Minako gently brought him into the music hall and he looked around, his gaze resting on a violin laid atop a piano. He went to it as Minako turned on a few more lights in the room, and picked it up gently in his agile hands. The room began to glow as some of the lights were turned on, Minako turned to see Quatre put the violin under his chin and lift the bow.
She remembered Usagi's first time playing the violin, everyone agreed that the princess should stick to song instead. She smiled at this and closed her eyes, then listened as he played the first few notes, her eyes flew open and she gasped. That was the music she was searching for. Instinctively she began to sing with his music, hoping he didn't mind.
"Deep in my soul, a love so strong, it takes control. Now we both know, the secrets bared, the feelings show. Driven far apart, I'll make a wish, on a shooting star. And there will come a day. Somewhere far away, when in your arms I'll stay, my only love. Even though you're gone, love will still live on. The feeling is so strong. My only love..."
Quatre listened to her song as he played, he didn't know where the music came from, he suppose that it came from his heart. It was something that had been in his mind for a while and yet he couldn't put words to it, yet she could. How could this be? How could she know?
"There will come a day, somewhere far away, when in your arms I'll stay my only love. You've reached the deepest part of the secret in my heart. I've known it from the start, my only love. My only love."
The song ended happily as he had hoped and he smiled at her, she was blushing, her eyes were now all but totally devoid of sadness. He put down the violin and went to her. She looked out a window and cleared her throat nervously, placing a hand behind her head.
"That's been in my mind for a while, I couldn't find the right music for it though. Thank you for playing that." she glanced at the ground.
"Thank you for singing, you're wonderful." he said in soft tones.
Minako blushed at the praise and was about to say something when he placed a hand along her cheek. He stepped close to her and kissed her lips gently. Minako's heart raced, everything her mother had told her about love was true. It was indescribable, incredible, wonderful and she felt:
"Complete." they whispered together.

Wufei looked at the tall girl who had been told to show him the palace. She walked easily, like she could carry another three people on her back and still be cool, calm and not break a sweat. Neither had said any more since they'd left the audience chambers, there was a somewhat uncomfortable silence as they walked through the halls. Makoto looked bored and Wufei scowled at this, she turned her head to ask something and stopped seeing the look on his face.
"Are you constipated?" she asked seriously.
Wufei gapped at her forward question. "No! I am not constipated."
"Then stop looking like you've got a stick up your butt, you're face'll freeze like that you know."
"No it won't, that's just something mothers tell their children."
Makoto looked at him, grinning in her mind, thinking this could be seen as a challenge. "You'd think so wouldn't you?" she sighed and kept walking.
"What do you mean onna?" Wufei asked, still scowling.
Slowly she turned to him, her mouth open slightly, her eyes wide in mockery of shock. "You mean you don't know?"
Wufei couldn't help but stare at her beauty. "Don't know what?" he managed to say.
"Haven't you noticed the difference between earth and the moon? The gravity is very different for one, the moon has much less of it and that helps in some cases but it's also colder and there's been cases where people from earth just don't listen and their faces get stuck like this.." she tried to replicate the face that Wufei was making and he waved it off with one hand absently.
"Feh."
"Follow me if you don't believe me." she challenged him.
Wufei narrowed her eyes then followed after her. He wasn't sure if he'd be able to stop from following her, the way that she swung her hips. He kept in step with her as she snuck around to the audience chamber once more. He opened his mouth and she clapped a hand over his lips in slight fear. He glared at her and she lifted her hand motioning for him to be quiet. He did so then looked in the window to where she was pointing.
"You see that guy? The one talking to Serenity-sama?"
He nodded his head, unsure if he was allowed to speak or not. He took in the look on the man's face. It was a perpetual frown, much worse than the one that Makoto had tried to mimic from his own visage. He licked his lips and she pulled him down to the ground so she could explain it to him.
"That guy in there didn't listen to the warnings and he frowned, now he's stuck like that."
"Mamoru-san can't smile?!"
Makoto shook her head gravely, in her mind she was cracking up laughing. She couldn't believe that he was actually eating all of this up. She ran her fingers through her hair then pulled it into a pony tail. "I've never seen him smiling once and I've lived on the moon since I was eight years old." she nodded for effect and saw his jaw drop slightly.
"How come there aren't warnings for people when they arrive on the moon?" he demanded, "This sounds serious!"
Makoto wiggled her finger for him to come closer then put her lips close to his ear and whispered. "Because, it's a crock."
Wufei blinked in shock then caught on, she was just kidding him after all. "ONNA!"
"What was that?" they heard Serenity say from inside.
Makoto grabbed Wufei's hand and they began to run, it didn't take long before they were out in the gardens of the palace. They stood under a tree to catch their breath then glanced at one another, Makoto burst out laughing and Wufei rolled his eyes, chuckling slightly. Makoto gasped and stepped back holding her hands out in front of her face.
"The first sign of the apocalypse! Wufei has smiled!"
"I'm not smiling."
"Yes you are."
"No I'm not." he made a point of crossing his arms and trying to look serious.
Makoto took his hands in hers with a bright smile. "C'mon Wu-kun, it's not a bad thing to smile. It's actually known to improve your health sometimes. You've gotta loosen up a little bit."
Wufei smiled a little more then grinned. "Maybe it's not so bad." he admitted.
Makoto laughed gaily and sat down, pulling him with her, but they weren't balanced so he fell on top of her, straddling her lap. Makoto continued to giggle and laid back on the grass as Wufei looked at her in surprise. She wasn't going to call him ecchi or anything? He blushed and told himself that it was just an accident. It could've happened to anyone. Makoto looked up at him and saw him blushing, she smiled and tried to stop from laughing.
"You're blushing Wu-kun." she teased, her voice going a bit lower.
"Hai, I am."
She didn't expect that answer from him. Neither did she expect him to lean down close to her. He hovered his lips over hers and placed his hands over her wrists playfully. He began to nibble along her neck and made his way to her earlobe where he slowly sucked on it teasingly.
"You're blushing too Mako-chan."

Duo followed the playful girl, she was shorter than him, and that wasn't saying much since he wasn't that tall. She pulled back a tapestry and put a finger to her lips before going through the hole that had been revealed. The braided boy watched in amazement then quickly caught up to her. She reached back and pulled the tapestry closed then took his hand in her small one. He placed a hand on the wall as they walked, he could feel music coming through the walls and asked her why that was in a hushed voice.
"We're passing the music hall, someone must be playing." she responded, "It's strange, I don't think that Michiru-san or Haruka-san are playing today. They're the ones that use the hall the most. I think they're the perfect couple, not like Usagi-san and Mamoru."
He could practically see her making a face while making this comment. "What's wrong with Usagi and Mamoru?"
"It's an arranged marriage. It was only made so that the moon and the earth would be united in peace. Usagi doesn't love him and he....well I'm not sure if he loves her or not, but he sure doesn't deserve her. Kinda makes me wish that I could use my glaive on him."
"You're glaive?"
"Yes, since I'm one of Usagi-san's protectors I have a weapon, it's called the silence glaive. It can be used to destroy anything, from people to worlds." she spoke casually.
"Worlds!"
"What was that?" they heard Serenity through the walls.
Hotaru clapped her hand over his mouth and he could barely see her eyes narrowing at him in anger. "Not so loud, we're near the audience chamber. If Serenity-sama catches me then I won't be able to visit earth next month."
"You mean you're not suppose to be in here?" Duo asked mischievously.
"Lets just say that it's frowned upon." Hotaru shrugged and took his hand once more, tugging him along beside her as she went through the hidden passageways, "You have to be careful, someone could easily get lost in this place."
"I could get you in trouble couldn't I?" she could hear him grinning.
She turned to him, her eyes hurt and pleading. "Don't tell Serenity-sama Duo-san--"
"Duo-kun." he said bluntly, "There's no need for formalities Hota-chan."
She blinked then smiled warmly. "Honest? Duo-kun?"
"Sure thing pretty lady. Where's this?"
Hotaru held back a blush and felt the walls then grinned as she pushed the tapestry here away. They stepped out onto the hidden balcony and Hotaru beamed in pride as Duo's jaw dropped with total shock. From here he could see the earth perfectly. It was huge and so clear, blue and white mists swirled around his home planet, he felt awestruck.
"Amazing..."
"Now you see what I ask you not to tell Duo-kun? This is the most perfect spot in the palace."
Duo looked at Hotaru and a smile crept across his face. "You're secret's safe with me. Is that Trowa?"
"And that's Rei with him I guess." Hotaru nodded, "They're lucky." her purple black eyes lowered to the cold stone of the balcony.
"Daijoubu desu ka?" he asked in concern seeing her sad eyes.
"Iie."
"What's wrong pretty lady?"
She looked up at him, dark purple eyes meeting violet ones. He couldn't see why anyone could be sad in a place like this, everything about it was serene and filled with life. The stars looked close enough to touch from here and simply the view from where they were was amazing, they could look out over a field of flowers from all over the galaxy. Snap dragons, tiger lilies, lily of the valley, golden lions and unnamable alien plants were just a few of the flowers that he could see from just this one spot. He looked at her, really looked at her and saw what was troubling her.
"You're lonely?"
She nodded and turned away. "Everyone else here is older than me, I don't have any friends. That's how I learned so much about the castle, I have plenty of free time to look around and improve my fighting and my knowledge of the universe but..there's no one here my age to play with. Serenity-sama tries to distract me with errands, my schooling and such but I still get lonely."
"I'll be your friend." Duo offered, "I can find reasons to come here more often, and you can come to earth to visit me whenever you like."
Hotaru looked up at him in surprise and hope. "You mean it Duo-kun?"
"Of course I do silly." he ruffled her hair, making her giggle.
"Promise?" she extended her pinkie towards him.
"I promise, in the name of Shinigami." he grinned as he hooked his pinkie with hers.

Trowa silently followed the one introduced to him as Rei, her raven hair fell past her hips and went well with her steamy red dress. The color was so incredibly vibrant that he could imagine burning his hand on the fabric if he touched her. Rei glanced up at him and began to chat away, a little nervous at first, unsure of how to handle this. She didn't get much of a chance to interact with men since she was so busy studying and learning new fighting techniques. She began to relax as she realized that he was listening intently and not criticizing her or just paying her lip service.
"So Trowa-san, where are you from?"
He looked at her and smiled. "I am the emissary of Europe."
"Really? Europe? That's so cool." she gushed, ignoring her blush, "Is it really as romantic as everyone says?"
"I suppose so." he shrugged, "I'm a bit busy with my work to really get out much. To tell you the truth, this is my first time off planet."
"Oh? I would've thought that since you're an emissary, you got to see lots of different planets. I've been to a few myself. My home of Mars, here, Earth, and once to Pluto."
"Do you find that the planets differ much?" he asked interested.
"Yes I do. Mars is much more hot than the moon or Earth, and much more so than Pluto. I find it refreshing really but I suppose that's just because it's where I was born and such. The moon is very elegant and I can't see why anyone would want to oppose it or try to destroy it--"
"Destroy it?" Trowa sounded shocked.
"Yes." Rei's face was grave as she spoke, "There's one woman who wants to rule the universe, her name is Beryl. She'll stop at nothing to gain control over the planets. She needs only get past the moon to do this."
"Why the moon?"
"Because of the silver empirium crystal." she blinked up at him, "Haven't you been told about that?"
Trowa shook his head and she continued on, telling him that the other planets had crystals that were controlled by the rulers of each planet. Unfortunately the rulers of the planets had passed away and the heirs to the throne weren't old enough yet to fully control the powers of their own crystals. So this left Serenity-sama to keep Beryl at bay. She explained to him about the powers of the crystal, that it was like a harness of the soul of the carrier.
"It can be used to heal, to destroy, to create and rumor has it that it can grant a wish to the carrier of the crystal."
"It sounds wonderful."
Rei nodded sagely. "It is, if you're interested in the histories of the planets I can show you the library."
He finally smiled and spoke more than a few words. "That would be very nice. Thank you Rei-san."
Together they made their way to the library, ignorant to the fact that Hotaru and Duo were far above them making kissing noises and poking fun of what they might be saying.
"Oh Tro-kun could you scratch this itch on my chest for me?" Hotaru said in a sultry voice, trying to mimic Rei's own without bursting into giggles.
Duo said nothing but mimed scratching her breasts and Hotaru tossed her head back with a wide grin, starting to make noises of pleasure. Duo finally couldn't take it and broke their mime sex scene with laughter. Hotaru joined him, leaning back against the balcony as tears of laughter streaked her cheeks. Duo mouthed the words 'I love you' and she only laughed harder. Shinigami put a hand behind his head sheepishly, he hadn't known that the alien girls would be so much fun. He blinked, it was hard for him to call Hota-chan an alien, or any of them for that matter. They looked very much human and acted that way as well. When he thought of aliens he thought of little green men from Mars. He told her this and she laughed even harder, trying to think of Rei with green skin. Hotaru gave out a small cry as the balcony broke behind her, not thinking Duo grabbed her around the waist and pulled her back to the safety of the balcony. She looked behind her to the ground below, trembling in the shock of it, that never happened before, she was always careful on the balcony's.
"Thanks Duo-kun." she said breathlessly, "Much obliged."

Heero looked at the huge pool and nodded, not at all impressed by what Ami was telling him. Sure he liked to know about things around him, but a lot of what she was telling him he already knew, and the rest he just wasn't interested in. She was kinda cute in her own way though, he had to admit that. Blue hair wasn't all that common on earth, it gave her a sort of exotic look. He smiled to himself and shook his head. Ami glanced at her guest and frowned, he wasn't paying attention. How was he suppose to learn about the kingdom if he didn't listen? She sighed and began to unclip her loose fitting dress from around her shoulders, lessons could be taught in other ways.
"What are you doing?" Heero asked as she began to slip off the dress.
"Taking off my dress."
"I can see that, why?"
"So I can go for a swim." she answered simply.
Simply is an exaggeration, she then began to explain how the water on the moon revitalized those that bathed, swam or drank it. In detail she described how the moon had kept everyone healthy and young through all the years that it supported life. Heero was mildly interested but kept watching the straps of her dress move as she told him. Then it dropped. He could do nothing but stare at her.
"Want to go for a swim with me?" she smiled.
"I don't have any clothes. I'll just watch."
"Okay then, if you're sure."
Ami jumped into the water, the coolness slid over her skin and she was very glad that she wore a bathing suit underneath her dresses. With a small smile to herself she called on her powers and made the water lift her above it, creating a small throne for her to sit on. Heero watched her stand on the watery chair and dive back into the pool once more. He knew for a fact that she was trying to get his attention. It wasn't working, it stopped working when she showed her bathing suit.
She poked her head above water once more with a smile. "Are you sure? The water's great Heero-san."
"I'm--"
The two looked in the direction of the palace, hearing a scream from Serenity-sama. Heero jumped up and began to run in the direction of the palace, Ami transformed quickly and followed suit. A little bit ticked off that they had been interrupted so rudely. Then she realized that the worst had happened. Beryl was attacking. Heero arrived first and started to take on one of the dark minions, Ami faced off against Zoisite, her former friend and misted the area around them so that he couldn't see her as she prepared her second attack. Her hand lifted in the air and she concentrated on the water underneath the ground, intending to push it upwards and send Zoisite through the air and back to his mistress. She had barely started fighting when the blonde haired man impaled her on a pole of dark energy, he had focused in on her specific energies and targetted that with his powers. Heero saw this and screamed in rage, gaining the general's attention. Zoisite turned to Heero, an evil look in his eyes that once held compasion. He formed another spear in his palm and began to use it as a bo against the slightly smaller boy, Heero rushed at him, filled with an energy and determination that he had never known before. He grabbed a bo himself from one of the fallen minions and used it against his opponent, neither was willing to give an inch and the air began to reek of testosterone. Heero ducked under a sweep of the dark spear and thrust outwards with his own, sending Zoisite sprawling, but the general was quick to get up once more. He heard his opponent giving a battle cry and smiled to himself, he would savor this victory. But just as Zoisite turned to look at Heero he was greeted with a knife going through his throat. Heero's eyes blazed in anger at the intrusion of this peaceful place, he fought on diligently against the smaller minions but he had used a lot of energy fighting against Zoisite, as well as some blood from the few cuts that he had recieved. He was a great fighter, some would call him the perfect soldier, but in the end he died from massive blood loss. He went down fighting and with a grim smile on his face.

Minako and Quatre held one another close, sharing another kiss and the emotions that bound it together when they heard Serenity-sama's scream. Minako cursed and transformed, telling her love that she was needed to protect the kingdom. Quatre held to her arm with tearful eyes and made her swear to come back to him alive. Knowing that this might not be possible Minako kissed him and backed out the doors of the music hall.
"We'll be reunited soon Quatre-kun." Minako said in gentle tones then turned and ran out the door.
"Mina-chan!" Quatre called after her.
There was an explosion in the music hall seconds later. Quatre died instantly and Minako knew this, as she could feel the emptiness in her once more. She was incomplete again. Tears ran down her face as she called out her power over love and beauty, feeling anguish and hatred towards Beryl and her minions. In her haste she was able to sustain quite a few hits from the minions without feeling anything. She couldn't feel anything anymore. Everything blurred together for her and her vision was clouded by tears of bitter hatred. Without thinking about it, her body created attacks that she never knew that she had, all memories of what her mother taught her at one time and told her only to use in an emergency. Just before she joined with Quatre once more she was able to take out Kunzite and a few dozen of the more powerful minions by using her mother's final and most deadly attack. It was a suicide blast.

"Wo ai ni." Wufei murmured as he ran his fingers over Makoto's body, "Wo ai ni."
Makoto kissed him and smiled up at him as his hand trailed from her chest down her dress to her hips, they teased one another gently with kisses and touches but not going any farther for the moment. He kissed her once more at her collar bone before resting his cheek against hers.
They looked up hearing a scream and Makoto looked on in dismay, she had finally found someone and danger was about to make her leave. Wufei helped her up and drew a sword from his side, she hadn't noticed this before and chalked it up to the fact that Wufei must be an expert swordsman. He turned to her once more and kissed her passionately as she was transforming. He felt the electricity jump through their bodies and pulled back.
"Take this." he gave her a necklace that he wore beneath his shirt, it was a dragon on a gold chain, "My pledge to you my Mako-chan, my airen. Once this is done, we will be joined eternally."
Makoto blushed and put the necklace on in haste, the electricity she controlled coursed in her veins and she could feel the dragon against her skin as they set off with all intentions of finishing off Beryl together and marrying as soon as they could after the victory.
They entered the battle field together and stood close by one another so that they could help each other if need be. They didn't see any generals in sight but there were other powerful enemies for them to take out. Wufei took on a shadow warrior by himself, armed only with his sword, his skill and his courage. They were almost evenly matched and the emissary from China knew that he had to get in close to his opponent if he had any hope of striking him down. Wufei died taking out a shadow warrior, one that would, in the future, carry a rainbow crystal. He got himself in as close as he could and drove his sword through it's heart, or what would have been the heart had the creature any to begin with. Unfortunatly the daemon still had enough strength to lash out with it's claws and pushed it's fist through Wufei's chest. Makoto was forced to watch him die, two other minions held her in place and laughed as she watched in horror, trying to escape to help her airen. Tears could not come to her. Wufei would not want her to cry, he would want her to fight on since he could not. Anger was the only emotion that she allowed herself. No. It was rage. The rage of the dragon. The necklace pulsed against her body as she readied her attack.
"Jupiter supreme thunder dragon!" she cried out, hurling the attack at three other of the shadow warriors.
"Mako-chan, you should play nice."
She spun around to see Nephrite laughing at her, no one would laugh any more. Not at the pain of those that she loved. The two began battle, he would have been stronger than her, had it not been for the fact that her mind was devoid of all rational thought. She could only concentrate on revenge, she had to avenge her lover. Makoto utilized techniques that she learned from some of the other planets, certain martial arts techniques that, in the course of time, would fade away and only those that lived in the silver millenium could possibly remember it. Nephrite didn't really stand a chance but he tried his best, he underestimated her need for blood and it ended with Makoto the only one standing, her hands red with the general's blood. She turned hearing Wufei call out to her. She turned and saw him as he was before the battle started, no broken bones, no blackened eye and no blood. He held out his hand to her and she put her hand in his, her body collapsed in exhaustion.
"Airen." was the last word to leave her lips.

Duo and Hotaru never knew what hit them. They were in the direct path Beryl and died almost instantly in one anothers arms, still recovering from the shock of Hotaru nearly dropping off the castle balcony. Duo tried his best to shield his new little sister and took the brunt of an assault, he never expected for them to be attacked from behind. Duo watched in horror as his little sister's eyes opened wide with shock, his own eyes were brimming with tears, though he refused to cry. He grit his teeth as the sword entered his body after it entered hers, another thing was that he refused to give the enemy the pleasure of hearing him scream or beg for mercy. There was no battle, there was no chance. There was only silence. The soldier of death and the god of death died joined by three ways, one was that they had their arms around one another, the second was the affinity for death and friendship that they had shared. The third was the sword that cut through them both from behind Hotaru.

The grand library was the third place attacked but Trowa and Rei hadn't gotten their yet when it started to be destroyed. They heard Serenity-sama and instantly ran, Rei transformed as she went, preparing herself for an onslaught of attacks. Trowa ran beside her, this beautiful place wouldn't be destroyed so long as he lived. He grabbed a bo from one of the lesser minions and killed it then many others, together he and Rei stood back to back and fought with everything that they had. Jedite, another general, appeared and kicked Trowa away, leaving Rei's back exposed for the attack of a lesser youma. Rei just barely cried out as she was attacked, though it's advantage of the surprise element didn't last long. She lifted herself off the ground using her arms and kicked the youma's face in with her high heels, feeling satisfaction as she heard a crunch. She righted herself as more came at her, only now she didn't have Trowa right there to help her fend them off, he was holding his own trying to get back to her side. Jedite just watched and gave orders for a while. It didn't bother him that the fire princess might be killed by someone under him. It bothered Trowa though. He shared the need to protect the moon with the pryo girl and the only thing Jedite knew before his moment of death was that a bo can be a deadly weapon, wood is very hard, and one should never tick off Barton Trowa. Trowa continued to fight with Rei until Beryl herself appeared and wipped the two out, it was just a sweep of her hand and the dark energy over came them both, it was reletively painless and neither realized it was happening until it was far too late.

Serenity-sama cried at the loss of her daughter and her kingdom. So many loyal followers were killed in the battle between her and Beryl, but there was still hope left. She told Luna and Artemis what she planned to do before placing them in sleep. She couldn't bare the thought that her daughter had died so she sent them into the future, along with their friends and enemies. Unfortunatly she lost control of the silver crystal and a few of the people that she sent were seperated from the group. Among those few were the emissaries of earth. And so, the story begins.
