Nuclear power holds many potential dangers to mankind. The radiation from waste is harmful to environment and to humans, especially since by the time the plant is too old to operate and must be disbanded more than half the materials have been irradiated and are too radioactive to be useful anywhere. Disasters can occur, like the Chernobyl plant in 1986. Waste is hard to manage and is also being disposed improperly in many countries operating with nuclear plants (for example, Australia plans to dump its nuclear waste in the middle of Australia, where the Aboriginals live). We want to prevent the same thing happening to Canada.
