NUIKAR SUNDAY RIDE !! SG. SEDIM TRAIL ON MARCH 25,2001

SUNGAI SEDDDIIIIIIMMMMM!!!!!!! That was what I shouted when Richard Lee said that Sim Cycles of Air Itam invited us to join the KORTs for a ride up Sg. Sedim
Then I remembered Turbo Snails journals (KORTS) mentioning leeches. Aaw! No problem what.leeches, biasak la.!!!
That Sunday morning, the Nuikars met at Bridge Toll parking and proceeded to the BKE Shell to meet the other riders.
We stopped at Karangan for a quick breakfast of Roti Canai and drinks. After Karangan,  we followed Azmi and found ourselves on a Tarmac Kampung Road. It was quite a drive.
Upon reaching Sg. Sedim, I can hear the roar of the rapids and couldnt wait to see what the water was like.
After assembling our machines and wearing our protective gears (minimum), we decided to have a photograph session. It was the Nuikars, the Korts, the AID group and the Vipers group. I counted and found at least 42 riders (if Im right, I flung my maths!).
We started the ride and went over a small stream with a small bridge. Immediately after the crossing, there was this climb which seemed to be a bit technical from a distance. However, as there was a big queue, most riders pushed their mean machines up the climb.
We then cycle and found the trail to be very undulating. The track was a bit wet, maybe it rained last night, of course it rain! We were cycling initially through bushes and amongst trees.
We then came across a small stream where we had to dismount from our mean machines, carry them and wade the stream. It was happy riding until we came to a turn off and rode on Tarmac for a short distance. Then we were riding amongst the rubber trees (or was it some other tree, I forgot!!! ) SUDDENLY !!!!, There was this awesome looking short downhill ! After gazing at the track I wanted to take, swallowed a lot of saliva to get me to ride down, I released my brake levers. Hey, it wasnt that bad!
After this , the ride was up down, up down,  of course lawith some level trail. I was enjoying the ride until the climbs were getting steeper and steeper.  We were riding and we came across a fallen tree. The trunk was blocking the road! I thought, thats it, time to turn back, end of the trail! But I was wrong, we had to cross the trunk. I was looking for the other Nuikars, I only saw Lawlee and sometimes Sim or Richie would be with me. Richard and Andy were nowhere to be seen! Those two devils are sure damn fast!!!

ST  insisted that I join his group to go up the waterfall.another climb..about 1 click! Man! I was the only Nuikar to follow the KORTs Theng Kars! We went up the climb. It had about four climbs, two of them a bit technical, I pushed up this climb! heh heh ! Hey ! I wasnt alone! We had a  few downhills and crossed a small ravine with a bridge made of wooden sticks!  We then arrived at something that looked like a technical downhill. It was covered with ruts and roots were running across it. I downhilled, couldnt believed it, I made it .!!!  I heard a loud thunderlike sound and after dropping my bike, saw this awesome looking waterfall. It is Kg. Sedims water catchments area
After some photographs session, we pushed our machines up the DH that was mentioned earlier. We cycled to the fork where I and the other Nuikars parted. The ride back was fun, a little bit of gentle downhilling.

Let me tell you folks, that ride was one of the best ride I ever rode! It was fun, got my adrenalin flowin , two leech bites, and my bike covered with mud the way it has never been covered before !
