If I could live my dreams:

After a lot of research on various organizations, and, I have to admit, some serious soul-searching, I feel that the impoverished orphans of Ghana have the biggest place in my heart. They are followed closely by the people of Ireland, Poland, and Romania. |
My goal is to provide health care, education, and to help rebuild communities. I have been very blessed, and I have a strong desire to "walk a mile" in someone elses shoes. |

The Organization I have chosen to help take me to these places is called Global Volunteers. Here's a little bit about them:
In 1984 Global Volunteers put in place the foundations for what would become the "volunteer vacation". Volunteers like me can travel to a host country for up to three weeks at a time and gain the oppurtunity to work and live alongside the cititzens we are serving. |

II am aware of the volatile political climate in many developing countries. Armed with this knowledge, there are things that I would have to consider, such as:
Global Volunteers does not in any way offer any safeguards in the event of a coup, the outbreak of a regional conflict, or any other unforseen circumstances.
Also, in the event of these situations, I would pretty much be on my own; but I feel that the rewards outweigh the risks, |
I am looking for companions in service who are willing to enrich the lives of people who would remember them forever.
I intend to completely document my trip, to bring back tangible memories both for my supporters and to provide further encouragement. |
