Kia Ora and Welcome
Bill's No Dig Gardening.

I am a Greenie at heart but also pretty lazy!

So a No Dig Garden that is easy to do and good for the environment, well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is as easy as pie!

Just got some second hand baths (round $10 each), put them in place. Put in some hay, could have put some compost! then potting mix (3 bags $10). Just need 150mm/6inch of Potting Mix (brought or homemade).

Then put in some plants (99c for 6 mostly) and Bob's your Uncle.

Round the back of the house I have put in some stakes and some old tin, to make a garden round the water tank in a similar vain to the bath tub idea.

All up it has cost me round $60, but we are eating fresh vegies for free now.
It is only early Spring in NZ (October) and we are eating, Silverbeat, Lettuce, Celery, Brocolli etc. Carrots, Cabbage, Strawberries, Tomatoes on the way.

I have cheated a little and sprayed on a liquid fertiliser but otherwise only natural products.

It is also part of Pemaculture which I have the book on.

No Digging is far better for the environment and is no work. The old days of trenching the garden and turning it over is something I never understood myself.

My Dad has done it the old way at the same house for 60 years, but it is sandy so digging a bit easier.

He used to plant luppin to get some goodness back into the soil.
