Just a question about Swap Drive!

I took the plunge and reformated my Linux Partition and started again, with Mandrake 9.2.
Extremely pleased with the result as it got rid of all my mistakes and things seemed to install better with a clean instal rather than a update. Like Power management seems to be up and running. (moved desktop data to another PC)

I did not have a Swap drive before, so am a bit in the dark at present. Set it up using Partition Magic from DOS (sorry old habits die hard)

Here are some results I found!

[root@mordor Quick Launch]# fdisk -l

Swap shows up in Info but 100% free!
How do I know if Swap is actually being used?

Here is a link to a screenshot of Memory Usage http://leftfieldnz.topcities.com/bill/linux/images/memory.jpg
Linux sure seems to use memory different from Windoze.

HTH

Thanks
Bill

BTW loved the poweroff suggestion for shutdown, computer actually shuts down now!
Now just my modem and webcam and a few other things to fix sigh!
