| Robby looked around at the palace he was standing in. He put his hand over his nose. Holy shit it smells. He walked down the huge hallway and into the throne room. The awful smell was gone and he put his hand back down at his side. A beautiful woman was sitting in a throne at the front of the room. She turned her head and looked at him. "Ah Robby. You've arrived. Please, enter." He did as she said, but not so much of his own free will. He examined her. Something about her didn't seem right, but he couldn't think what. He reached her throne and stopped. She leaned forward and smiled at him. "I've been waiting for you." she said quietly. He opened his mouth to speak but the smell came rushing back and he found he couldn't even breath. He coughed and nothing happened, he still couldn't breath. He doubled over and coughed harder, more out of necessity than anything. He looked up and saw the woman still smiling at him. She stood up and knelt down in front of him. "Come with me Robby." she whispered into his ear. Everything got dizzy. He needed air. His eyes rolled into the back of his head and he collapsed. He woke up gasping for air. He reached to the table on the side of his bed and picked up the glass of water. He quickly drank the whole glass. He looked over at the clock and saw it was only two. He sighed and fell back onto his bed. In five hours he'd be driving to the middle of nowhere just to go camping with his friends. "I hope we don't die, no one will find us." his friend Nathan had said earlier in the week. Nathan would be taking his girlfriend Ashley, which meant Robby and Alex would be the only ones doing anything. Robby didn't mind though, he liked Ash. And it would be nice to talk to Alex. He tended not to talk a lot, so Robby would be able to get to know him better. He realized he was shivering and pulled the covers over him. I better get some sleep. Lord knows I won't be able to this weekend. He closed his eyes and remembered why he was even awake in the first place. Please don't let me have that dream again. At seven o' clock Robby walked outside with his bags and sat down on the curb. He put on his sunglasses and looked down the street. Where in the hell are they? A green Jeep Liberty pulled around the corner and sped towards him. It came to a halt in front of his apartment complex. The passenger side door opened and Ash hopped out. Her blonde hair was pulled back and she was wearing a black tank top which showed just enough of her dark skin to drive Robby crazy. "Hey Rob! Ready to go camping?!" He smiled and stood up. "Of course." The back of the car opened and Robby threw his stuff into it. He closed the door and got into the car. He sat in the back with Alex. "Hi." Alex said as Robby closed the door. "Hi." Nathan turned around and looked at Robby. "Don't you ever attempt to fix your hair?" He ran his fingers through his black hair. "I think it looks fine." Nathan smiled. "I guess it doesn't matter since we're going to be in the middle of the woods, away from women for you to impress. Unless of course you want some bear love." He turned back around and they started to drive away. Ten minutes later they were on the interstate driving away from what little civilization they did live in. Nathan and Ash were talking in the front seat. "I brought toilet paper." she said. "Ash! We're supposed to be roughing it! You can't bring toilet paper!" "If you want any on this trip you'll let me use toilet paper." Robby smiled when Nathan didn't say anything. "That's what I thought. How long is it going to take us to get there?" she asked. "About another forty five minutes." Nathan said. Robby looked over at Alex and saw him staring out the window. "Hey Robby! Did you bring any food?" Nathan asked. He looked back up towards the front. "Yeah. Didn't you?" "Yeah. There's a cooler in the back. So put your food in there when we get there." "Ok." He looked out the window and at the trees rushing past them. He looked at his watch. Eight o' clock. He smiled. I'm glad she brought toilet paper. A half an hour they were there due to Nathan's speeding. They walked to the back and started to unload everything. "You're putting Nathan in charge of direction?" Ash said. "You want someone that can actually read a compass." Alex said. "I'm not stupid. I've done this before you know." Nathan said. Ash smiled and took the compass out of his hand. She turned to Alex and gave it to him. "I trust you can do this better than him." "I won't send us off a cliff if that's what you're suggesting." Robby smiled and slung his bag over his shoulder. "Fine, I see how it is. Never ask me to do anything again though." Nathan said pouting and picking his stuff up. Alex walked in front of them. "Let's go!" he said. They started walking and Ash looked up at Nathan. "Of course we couldn't let you guide us. You're a blonde, you couldn't have possibly done a good job." "You're a blonde too." "I'm the only exception to the rule." Robby jogged up to the front of the line where Alex was. He turned to him and smiled. "Come to keep me company?" Alex asked. "Yep. There's only so much conversation you can have with those two." Alex looked back and saw Nathan move his hand down to Ash's butt. "Ain't it the truth." he said turning back around. "You know where we're going?" "I know where we're not going." "Where would that be?" He pointed to the mountains in the distance. "There." "Why?" Robby asked looking at them. They looked beautiful, he'd love to have a good climb. "There's bears up there. We don't want to mess with that." "Oh." He looked down. "How long is it going to take us to get there?" "Well, since I don't know where we're going, there's no telling." "Oh yeah. Where are we staying?" "Wherever we find a good campsite." "Oh." Fifteen minutes later Ash ran up to them. "Nathan's trying to rape me." she said smiling. Robby turned around. "Can't that wait until we have our tents up?" he asked Nathan. He smiled. "No." he said running up and grabbing Ash's waist. She shrieked. Alex stopped. "This looks like a good spot." "We're gonna, uh, go sight seeing. Be back later." Nathan said taking Ash and running away. Robby rolled his eyes and took his bag off his back. He put in on the ground. "I don't see why they have to do that here." Alex said getting out his one-person tent. "They're them. They have to." Robby said doing the same. In three minutes Alex had his tent set up and Robby was just staring at his. "Need help?" Alex asked. "Uh, yeah." Robby took his tent and had in up in a minute. "How do you do that?" Alex smiled and walked back to his tent. Robby looked at him disappear into his tent. He must have done this before. He got out his sleeping bag and went into his tent. He walked out to see Alex putting up Nathan's tent. "You should make him do that." Robby said. "Nah. He wouldn't know how to do it anyway." Robby looked at him. "You have a leaf in your hair." He ran his hand over his curly, brown hair and picked the leaf out. "Thanks." He looked around. "I'm gonna go get some fire wood." he said walking away. "Make sure it's dry!" Alex said. He walked through the woods picking up pieces of wood as he went. He looked up at the mountains and had the sudden urge to run to them. He shook his head and looked away. No, I can't go there. Bears will kill me. He picked up a few more pieces of wood and started back to the campsite. When he got there he saw three tents standing in a semi-circle. Alex walked up to him. "Put those in the middle. But not too close to the tents." Robby did as he was told. A wind blew through the forest. Robby. He looked up at Alex. "Did you say something?" "No." "Hmm..." Nathan and Ash walked to where their tent was. "Well that was a quickie." Robby said. Nathan smiled and took Ash into their tent. Alex looked down at their tent and frowned. "I'm next to them all night." Robby smiled. "Sorry." |
