With all his might Chris drug the keg up the stairs in an attempt to get in into his bathtub full of ice. After nearly pulling his back and giving himself a hernia, he got it to the bathtub. There was a knock at the door and he ran down excitedly. He opened it to see JC.
Oh, its you, he said trying to close the door again.
JC put his hand on it and pushed it back open.
Dont do this. I need to talk to you.
And what are you going to say? That youre obviously better than me in bed because my ex is still screwing you? I dont want to hear it. And besides, Im expecting people and I need to get the house ready. Goodbye.
Dont do this, Chris.
No, I will do this! You dont even realize how youve betrayed me. I dont want to talk to you now or ever again. So please, do yourself a favor and never come here.
I dont want to lose you as a friend.
Well too bad because you already have.
JC frowned and let Chris close the door in his face. Chris could hear him say one last thing sadly behind the door.
Im sorry, and I left her.
He sighed and the past seven years flashed before his eyes. He couldnt do this to the person he once called his brother. He finally realized that he couldnt let a woman come between them. He opened the door again and JC quickly turned around.
For crying out loud, I forgive you, he said reluctantly. I wont let her come between me and my brother.
JC smiled broadly and he ran up to Chris and hugged him.
Thank you. Thank you so much.
No problem. But really, you should be going. I need to get ready.
Sure, he said letting him go. Thank you again. I promise you wont be sorry for this.
Well see, he said with a smile on his face. Bye.
Bye.

Chris opened the door fifteen minutes later to see Crystal, Margaret, Kandi, and David. Margaret walked into the house and looked around.
Wheres the keg? I need a damn drink, she said.
Its in the upstairs bathtub. Crystal walked in and kissed Chris more passionately than she had ever done. Well, its nice to see you too, he said.
She smiled and he let everyone else inside.
Ok, I have junk food much better than anything they ever gave us at that awful place in the kitchen alone with some hard liquor. The beer is upstairs where he looked around and didnt find Margaret. Margaret obviously is. Damn, she really did need a drink, didnt she?
You have no idea, David said.
Crystal slapped Chris on the arm.
Are you going to give me a damn tour or what?

And this is the last room of the house: the kitchen. And this is the fridge where all the alcohol is, he said opening it and revealing every last shelf full of alcohol. I had to take everything else out and put it into the freezer just to make room for all of this. So, you all better drink it all.
Do we need a designated driver or anything? Kandi asked.
Hell no. Were all going to pass out here eventually. We wont be leaving till the morning. Is that ok with you, Chris? David asked.
That was the plan.
Great. Then give me everything, Kandi said.
Wait just a minute, youre not legal yet, he said shaking his finger at her.
I am too!
Not legal enough to drink alcohol.
Youre not being serious are you?
He laughed. No. Just dont tell anyone about this.

An hour later all the adults were merely buzzing, but Kandi was more drunk than anyone Chris had ever seen before. They were all sitting in the living room pouring champagne into crystal glasses. This made their fourth bottle.
I love this stuff. I dont understand why you bave to be twenty-bone to drink, Kandi said.
Honey, tomorrow youll understand, Margaret said patting her on the back.
Oh yeah! I have something to tell you guys! she slurred. Im pregnant!
What?! everyone yelled.
Yeah! Im two months!
Whos the father? Crystal asked.
Kyle. No one said anything. Well, Im happy about it! Now Ill have a piece of Kyle forever.
Margaret shook her head.
Were you all that ignorant? You didnt use protection?
Think adout where we bere. We couldnt have botten protection if we wanted do.
Chris shook his head as well.
Lets just forget about this for right now. Enjoy the alcohol! Lets drink till we forget everything that ever happened in the loony bin!
Im old enough that I dont need alcohol for that to happen, David said.
Well, the rest of us do, old man, Margaret joked.
The glasses were filled and David lifted his to make a toast.
Everyone raise your glasses for a toast! Everyone did as he said. To the loony bin crazies!
The slammed their glasses together. The loony bin crazies!
