Morgan turned and looked toward the door to the gym to see Val walking inside. She wondered why she was outside in the first place. Val seemed so weird. Her eyes Why did her eyes glow so? And why wouldnt she smile all the way? She would never open her lips too much.
She walked over to Val with the intent to surprise her from behind, but she turned around smiling before she could do so.
Yes? she asked calmly.
Uh, well, I was going to jump on your back or scare you, but you turned around. So, uh, hi, Morgan said.
Theres not much you can do to surprise me.
Is there something youre not telling me?
Like what? she asked walking away with Morgan walking with her.
I dont know. Something about you seems off.
I dont know what youre talking about.
Yes you do. Whats wrong with you? What have you done to yourself since you left high school?
Val sighed and looked her in the eyes.
Theres not enough time to explain what has taken place. And Im not supposed to tell you anyway. Under strict orders Im afraid.
By who? That man that was standing in the door way?
You saw him?
Yes. So it is him? Is that why you were outside?
You always were the clever one. Nothing much got past you.
So are you going to tell me whats up?
You wouldnt believe me if I did.
Try me.
Val stopped and looked at Morgan. Morgan crossed her arms and stared at Val. Val was right, nothing ever got past her. Val looked around to see if anyone was listening, and when she saw that no one was, she led Morgan to the top of the bleachers.
You must promise that you wont let a whisper of what Im about to tell you pass your lips.
I promise.
Ok then. I really shouldnt be telling you this. Lord, hes going to be so pissed off at me. Oh well. I went off to college as all of us, well, most of us did. Some of these bums have absolutely no ambition. Anyway, things were fine the first year. Going to this Catholic school and having college level courses since freshman year put me at an advantage. So I sat back and watched everyone else have heart attacks and aneurisms while I passed with flying colors. Well, then things changed in the second year. Not grade wise, I was still receiving high marks, but other things happened. Someone came into my life; changed it forever. I fell in love with him, I still love him, but he deceived me. I should have seen it from the beginning. I suppose thats where I should start. Yes, that would make the most sense

Chapter II
The God Appears

The night was slightly cold, which was a rarity there, trust me. Seeing this I decided to open a window and enjoy it. The sun had gone down hours ago and things were just as I liked them. For the most part the campus had settled down. Only the lingering few remained outside. Obviously trying to find there way to whatever party they could find.
I took a deep breath of the night air and sighed. There is nothing in the world better than the scent of the country air. And trust me; this was the closest to the country I was ever going to get. After a few moments of sweet lingering with my head out the window, I withdrew into the stale dorm room. I turned off the lamp that sat next to my bed and laid down on my back. The only noise to be heard was the song of the crickets which congregated outside my window. How Ive missed these simple sounds.
Slowly I drifted off into a light sleep which had thus eluded me. Not since that first week of college had I managed to get a decent nights sleep. Something just didnt feel right. I could feel something wrong was lingering around the campus. With my last thought I realized what I stupid idea it was to open the window.
I awoke with a start and was sitting straight up. I looked to the clock and saw that it was two thirty. I had been asleep for four hours. With a sigh I ran my fingers through my hair and laid back down. Alarms went off in my head. Something was definitely wrong. I opened my eyes to see the window was closed. My heart started racing. Who could possibly have closed it? After all, my room was located on the third floor, and no one had a key to my room with the exception of the RA, and why would she come in only to close the door. A cold sweat broke out all over my body and I pulled the covers up to my eyes.
It was then that I heard the chair in the corner creak. I jumped up and grabbed the pen that lay on my desk without even thinking. When I saw the man sitting there smiling at the pen I held in my hand I crawled back against the wall.
Wh-what do you want? My purse is right over there. Please, if its money you want then take it. Please dont hurt me.
Why would I want to hurt you? he asked calmly, leaning forward in the chair.
I dont know. Im not the one who broke into a girls room in the middle of the night.
His smile broadened.
I wouldnt call it breaking in. You did leave the window open. Thats pretty much inviting me in right there.
It was then that I really started to panic. My eyes raced across the room looking for something better than the pen to protect myself with. I found nothing. Then my mind began going through scenarios of how to escape. I could jump and run to the door as fast as I could. After all, it was only a few feet away.
Now why would you want to leave? he asked softly, almost seductively.
I sunk back even further against the wall. He stood up and walked slowly towards the bed. I tried to speak up, but found I hardly had a voice.
D-d-dont. Im warning you, I said holding up my now violently shaking hand with the pen.
What could you possibly do with that?
Now my voice was hardly audible at all. I was most surprised that he heard me.
Are you going to rape me?
No. I would never dream of doing something like that to a creature as beautiful as you. I could never spoil you.
Then what do you want?
He sat down on the edge of the bed and patted the empty space next to him.
Come to me.
Without even thinking I did as I was told. Something was definitely wrong. I would never do that of my own will. His hand reached over and found mine. His fingers went against the back of my hand and he gently massaged it.
So beautiful.
He raised my hand to his lips and he kissed it softly. My head began whirling.
Ive been searing for you. Ive always been searching for you.
Why? I asked softly.
Because youre the one whos going to save me from this wretched existence. Youre the one
He looked up into my eyes and then things went dark.

The next morning I awoke to the sound of pounding at my door. I rolled over in agony of the loud sound. It felt like I had a hangover, but I was almost positive I didnt drink the night before. Come to think of it, I could remember anything I did the night before. I slowly sat up, trying my best to ignore the pain. I shivered and looked over to see the window was open. Right, I remembered opening it now. The pounding continued.
Im up! I shouted.
My voice was unusually groggy. I rubbed my throat and winced when a sharp pain raced down my spine. I must have slept on it funny.
Well its about damn time! Youve missed class!
I turned my head quickly, ignoring the second rush of pain, and saw that it was two thirty. I jumped up and opened the door.
What did you do last night? my friend Denise asked.
I dont remember.
Oh lord, you got drunk. Let me in, I know just what to do in this situation.
I backed away from the door and she quickly walked in. Her mouth was moving quickly and she was doing nearly ten things at a time, but I didnt hear any of it. Why couldnt I remember what had taken place last night? I dazedly walked back to the bed and sat down.
Hello? Space cadet Val! Denise said snapping her fingers in front of my face.
I slowly turned my head and simply stared at her.
Man, you really are out of it. I think you might have drunk a whole bottle of Jack last night.
I dont think so, I said softly.
Ok, lets go through what you did last night. All that you can remember anyway, she said sitting down next to me.
Well, I remember coming in here, opening the window, and then going to bed.
Thats all?
Yeah.
She cocked her head and scratched her temple.
Hmm Are you sure you didnt wake up and go to a party or something?
No. I dont know what the hell I did.
