Nuggets forward Antonio McDyess had surgery Oct. 12 to repair the patella tendon in his left knee and clean out loose bodies in his right knee. The All-Star is expected to have a full recovery by February, He only played 10 games because of sorness and precautions by the nuggets staff.

Issel Steps Down - 12/26/02 Dan Issel resigned as president and head coach of the Nuggets on Dec. 26, 2001. Mike Evans, who has served as head coach for the last five games, will continue as interim head coach.

Nuggets and Mavs Make 7-Player Trade - 2/21/02 The Denver Nuggets beat the NBA trading deadline by acquiring Juwan Howard, Tim Hardaway, Donnell Harvey, a first-round pick and cash from Dallas in exchange for Nick Van Exel, Raef LaFrentz, Avery Johnson and Tariq Abdul-Wahad The trade was made to make salary cap room and to rid the Nuggets of Van Exel because he demanded to be traded because of doubts about the future and management of the team.
